About me
As a licensed therapist in both New York and South Carolina, I specialize in supporting individuals through complex emotional/relational landscapes and identity concerns. My practice centers on helping clients navigate challenges related to self-esteem, shame, life transitions, sexuality, addiction, and interpersonal relationships. I bring a compassionate and affirming approach to working with my clients.
My therapeutic approach emphasizes building rapport and responding compassionately to my clients. This involves attempting to be warm and empathetic in how I connect to you, while balancing that with holding you accountable. I draw from evidence-based practices to support clients in developing stronger self-compassion, self-awareness, interpersonal skills, and emotional regulation skills. I emphasize learning to embrace a paradox of compassionately accepting yourself as you are, while simultaneously embracing the need for change which are based in concepts that I borrow from Dialectal Behavioral Therapy. Whether you're struggling with emotional distress, relationships, identity concerns, or seeking to change self-defeating habits, I'm committed to creating a supportive and compassionate space for your healing journey.
I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and aim to provide culturally responsive, inclusive care that honors each person's unique experiences and strengths.

He is an awesome therapist, and immediately as I started talking to him I felt heard, and not judged and that really mattered to me. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

I am grateful that Elliot wound up being my therapist on BetterHelp. He has excellent knowledge about some of the things I struggle with, and encourages me to think about my problems and the solutions that come with them. He also knows that sometimes I just need someone to listen, and sometimes I need guidance. I appreciate him, and the help he has given me so far.
