About me

Hey! I'm Elvia, a clinical social worker licensed in Utah. I have been in this field for 6 years, but have over 3 years of experience as a psychocounselor. I have worked with diverse clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, parenting, trauma, and self-esteem.

It's important to me that my clients feel respected, safe, and supported in all our interactions. I describe my counseling style as "keeping it real" and "out of the box."  I believe in meeting my clients where they're at and helping them set and meet THEIR goals. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, solution-focused, and psychodynamic counseling.

Trust me. I get it. Seeking out support is a big step and takes a lot! You're already one step closer to meeting that goal or making a change in your life!

Let's do this! I got you!

Elvia Ruiz keeps it real. She’s relatable, she’s funny. She really tries to help and does a damn good job at it. She was one of the main highlights of my 2021 and I can’t wait to continue that in 2022.

I think Elvia is an amazing therapist and I am very lucky to have been matched with her as my first therapist! She’s listened to my needs and has given suitable and varied methods to work through any issues I have. Elvia responds quickly and gives really good support with what I share without any judgement. I would recommend her 100%.
