About me
Hello, I am a licensed professional counselor licensed in the state of Texas. I have a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry that I earned at the University of Texas-Austin in 1992. I decided later in life to go back to school and become a counselor. By then, I had a husband and family, so I decided to attend an online program at Liberty University in Virginia. I graduated in December 2012, and began my internship working in an outpatient setting helping people with mental health disorders, including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, anger, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. I became fully licensed in October 2015, and continued working in that setting until February 2019, when I began working as an independent provider. I have experience with individuals of all ages, couples, and families; however, I am currently working with adults individually. My approach is person-centered and I generally use cognitive-behavioral theory to teach clients how to change unhelpful thinking patterns.
I enjoy helping people and look forward to helping you in your journey to being the best version of yourself.
