I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who works in the state of Texas. I have experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, various types of trauma history, parenting obstacles, and other mental health struggles. I currently work with youth and adults in the foster care system and enjoy walking alongside those trying to sort through their past, cope within the present, and plan toward future goals. I have also worked with many individuals who have experienced physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.
My therapy style is built on developing a strong rapport with each client and meeting them where they are without judgement. I am hopeful and wish to instill hope in each client I work with so that they can gain a stronger sense of self-awareness and self-growth. I believe every person deserves respect within a safe and healthy place to grapple with life's challenges. My approach is a collaboration of cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, and a strengths-based approach to working with individuals. I tailor my approach to fit each client's individual needs.
When you are ready, I am here. We can then begin this journey to a more fulfilling life!

Emily has been very effective in our sessions. She has a very calm, caring and friendly manner that makes it easier to get to the heart of an issue. Once the central issue(s) becomes apparent, the strategies (question prompts, journaling, etc) she recommends are so worthwhile.

Emily provides me a safe space and is extremely validating. She tweaks my frame of thinking by asking me probing questions and “guides” me to a conclusion. She gives me space to figure out who I am, all the while gently guiding me through sorting my emotions and thoughts. I appreciate her patience and her attentiveness to details as she always makes me feel safe, heard and seen!!

Emily is a therapist for a therapist! She is smart , engaging, and easy to connect with. She is reflective and empathic. I tend to not stick with counseling and she has been the only one to make me feel like I can come and be understood. Thank you Emily for keeping me on it!
