About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who works in currently in the state of Texas. I have experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, various types of trauma history, parenting obstacles, and other mental health struggles. I currently work with youth and adults in the foster care system and enjoy walking alongside those trying to sort through their past, cope within the present, and plan toward future goals. I have also worked with many individuals who have experienced physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.
My therapy style is built on developing a strong rapport with each client and meeting them where they are without judgement. I am hopeful and wish to instill hope in each client I work with so that they can gain a stronger sense of self-awareness and self-growth. I believe every person deserves respect within a safe and healthy place to grapple with life's challenges. My approach is a collaboration of cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, and a strengths-based approach to working with individuals. I tailor my approach to fit each client's individual needs.
When you are ready, I am here. We can then begin this journey to a more fulfilling life!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Emily Benton. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Emily has been great. She has been supportive from the beginning and provided great advice. She’s helped me journal, which has been helpful, and provided worksheets to help me gather insights into my behaviors. Emily has asked good questions to understand my concerns, my background and just generally where I’m coming from. I feel very comfortable with Emily and she is extremely easy to talk to. Emily does not judge, is encouraging and supportive and has really great advice. I am very glad the service matched me with her and could not be happier with the results.
Emily had been a wonderful therapist for me. She takes into consideration all the aspects that I need help with and always allows me the time to speak in depth and process. She is also highly motivating. Thank you Emily for always being understating, compassionate, and for giving me the space to process!
Soft-spoken, warm, patient, attentive, punctual, respectful.
Emily is great! Each meeting is helping soo much.
So far so good. It’s only been a 1 session and some messages back and forth. So far I feel listened to and respected from where I am coming from
Emily has made me feel more comfortable about therapy as well as giving me the impression of an actual goal.
