About me

Hi, I’m Emily, and believe it or not I am already a huge fan of yours. Each and every one of us has a story to tell. My story includes being a burnt out working mother of 4, pouring myself a glass of wine to get through the nightly routine of making dinner and bedtime. Only to find when my head hit the pillow, the guilt, shame and sadness would set in. I found myself thinking I have so much to be grateful for - loving husband, healthy kids, good job, nice home - but instead of enjoying what I had, I felt tired, stressed, and overwhelmed from trying to keep up with it all. I thought every other mom had it figured out and I was doing something wrong. It turns out, I wasn’t the only one who was struggling.

I decided that I deserved to feel better and so did my family. I made the decision that there was nothing wrong with needing help and wanting things to change. I decided that I was worth investing in and that support and accountability were what I needed. I was writing a story of motherhood that I didn’t want to be in, so I started to write a new story-one with joy, fulfillment and peace. I stopped doing it all and started doing the things that would support me emotionally, physically and spiritually. So whether you are a woman navigating the world, a working mother or stay at home mom (which is the world’s hardest and most underpaid job), you CAN have a life of fulfillment too.

As a person-centered clinician, my heart has been in supporting and empowering women to know their worth. When I meet with clients, I do so with empathy, respect, humor, and compassion. Therapy should be a place to dig deep and work hard, but also a place where you can have a little bit of fun and shift towards change. I tailor my approach to each individual client’s needs, preferences, and counseling goals through a strengths-based perspective and mindfulness. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is essential to the success of therapy. I work to create a holding place, a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space where individuals can fully explore the depths of who they are without fear or self doubt. My therapeutic personality is one that is gentle yet straight-forward allowing those I work with to feel heard, encouraged, challenged and supported. I am so glad you decided to take the leap to seek support for yourself and I can’t wait to walk alongside you on this new and exciting journey.
