About Me

Hello, my name is Emily Minear and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been working as a professional counselor for over 5 years now. Before I was a licensed counselor I also worked in a psychiatric hospital setting on adult and geriatric units. I have practiced in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am also certified and have many years of experience working in Substance Use and Addictions. This is something I am very passionate about. One thing to note is that my schedule right now consists of mostly mornings.

Emily is awesome!! She is so down to earth and easy to talk to but also holds me accountable. She listens to understand and provides valuable feedback and tools to help get me to where I want to be. I can bring my full, messy self and know that I won't be judged. Instead, I feel welcomed, accepted, validated, and challenged in the best possible way. I've been going to in-person therapists off and on for over 15 years and I've come farther in just 3 sessions with Emily than I have with years of sessions with other therapists. She is amazing!!!

I have talked to other therapist in the past and a lot of them focused on situations from other patients that they have instead of focusing on me and my problems. Emily has not done that one and I really appreciate that because my situation and my problems are so much different than other people's. I would call myself a disaster on some days but she has been very helpful and I greatly appreciate getting to work with her

She is super kind and really awesome. I was worried about BetterHelp because I'm not super conversational and She can get me talking. I really like how she is super curious to learn about the interests of her patients. In my previous attempts at counseling I felt like I wasn't cared about but with Emily I feel like she not only cares about my mental health she cares about me as a person.

Emily is amazing. I’ve had a very rough couple of months dealing with a loved ones death because of their addiction, and Emily has been phenomenal in supporting me and helping me understand. She is thoughtful, kind, empathetic, and very relatable. Her sessions are always super helpful and it almost feels like I’m talking to a friend instead of a therapist or counselor. She has provided me with challenges to work on the areas I need to work on and provided practical steps and help along the way. Grief, trauma, and addiction are not easy subjects and I truly appreciate Emily helping me through my struggles.

Emily has helped me pin point and clarify what I am thinking and feeling about issues in my life I was struggling with when I started therapy. She is very good at listening to me and giving me tips and tools to use when communicating with people in my life - family members, spouse, coworkers, etc. about those difficult topics. Even when she knows that I won't like what she has to say, she tells me anyway and pushes me to better myself and challenge my ideas and thinking patterns! I would highly recommend Emily as a therapist. She is kind, she is calm, she is understanding, and she can even make me laugh when I'm crying. She always seems to know what to say to help me navigate through my life without telling me what to do. She trusts me to make those decisions and supports me in my choices without judgement.

Emily is awesome! She takes the time to listen to your concerns and to help you overcome your barriers. She also focuses on the positives which really helps. I definitely felt a connection right away! I cannot wait to see where this takes me!

She was just incredible. She understood me and didnt make me feel like I was wasting my time as I have felt in standard therapy years ago.

Phenomenal counselor and human being. Every session is casual (yet professional), informative and fun. I always walk away feeling better and with goals to work on to help me in my future.
