About me

Hello! My name is Emily Myers and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor through the state of Ohio. I have over 14 years in the counseling profession and over 20 years of work experience in customer service or a helping occupation. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. I taught preschool for a few years and decided to go back for my Master's in Community Counseling from the same university. I graduated in 2009 summa cum laude. Since then, I have held a variety of positions in the counseling field including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, children and family centered jobs. I tend to have an eclectic approach to counseling based on what the client is wanting from the services. I use a lot of client centered, solution focused, and cognitive behavioral techniques. My sessions are always client driven with what the client is wanting to discuss or work on at that time. I'm excited to have this opportunity to work with you!

I feel so comfortable with Emily. She respects my boundaries, but also challenges me. I feel understood, and related to. My previous experiences have been awful, this is the first time I’ve felt at ease with someone.

Emily is the best. Wonderful to speak with. And she checks in often and let’s me know she’s there to support if needed.

Emily has been great so far. Supportive, with thoughtful suggestions. Our video sessions have felt productive, and our messaging between sessions has been helpful too.

I think it’s a little early for this survey, but my initial interactions have been helpful. I definitely have hope for a healthier mental and emotional future. We’ve barely begun to scratch the surface though.

Emily is conscientious, and does well at not moving into a conversation beyond my comfort level. She has been kind and encouraging. She offers alternatives, but isn’t judgmental.
