Emily Nilsson, LICSW
About me
Hi There!
My name is Emily and I am excited that you are seeking services. I specialize in supporting folks in processing trauma using EMDR and other methods. I am specifically trained on complex EMDR, and using poetry, art, colors, and sand tray to meet trauma needs that often get missed in other techniques.
EMDR is a specific type of therapy that uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements, tapping, or sounds) to help the brain process and integrate traumatic memories. What I mean is we will work together to show your body the scary things in the past are in the past. (If the trauma is on going we can work together on that too with accommodations).
The trauma therapy I use is brain based and somatic. I get to follow your brain, your beliefs and your needs.
Thanks again for reading through this. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
If you think we could be a good fit I would love to talk with you.
Kindly,
Emily

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Emily Nilsson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Emily is very kind, knowledgable, and cool. She understands internal family systems (IFS), which many therapists on this platform do not. Because she has more expertise in trauma healing and complex trauma, she has been very helpful for me. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to understand the different parts of themselves that have developed due to trauma or CPTSD.
