About me

As a hospice social worker for almost 9 years, I have supported many individuals and families throughout their experiences with death, dying, and grieving. This has included individual therapeutic support with people with terminal illnesses, as well as family meetings for loved ones struggling with the idea of death, loss, and/or serious illness. I have also provided support to many caregivers as they work at one of the most difficult jobs in existence.

I also enjoy working with people with physical disabilities, and their caregivers.

I bring a nonjudgmental attitude to my work with clients. I will provide deep listening as you share and explore your thoughts and feelings about what is troubling you. I will support you in finding solutions, including tangible problem-solving, or simply gaining a better understanding of the problem.

My personal interests include Buddhism and mindfulness. I am also an artist, creating in mediums of metal and fiber arts. I have an entrepreneurial spirit, and am generally interested in the cultivation of various life forms: cooking, eating, growing plants. I believe that self-care is often a crucially missing element when people experience suffering.

Ultimately the most important predictor of a counselor’s effectiveness is the quality of the relationship between the counselor and the client. I hope I can be a great support to you.
