About Me

I firmly believe that therapy is a healing process and also a process of growth. I offer a safe and non-judgmental environment where adults, teens, and children can come and share their hopes, goals, and feelings. For adults I can offer key solutions to present concerns and comfort for past hurts. A book I once read stated: Therapy is a gift for both patient and therapist. Let us begin this journey together. I have assisted men and women with Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. I am passionate about assisting individuals struggling with addiction find healing. I also am passionate about assisting individuals struggling with their sexual orientation.
I work well with children of all ages and I combine a holistic approach to therapy. I also have a masters in Theology and can assist individuals with religious issues they may have. I have assisted men and women struggling with issues of sexual abuse and sexual assault.

I felt heard from the first session with Dr. Velazquez. He repeatedly demonstrated a full commitment to helping me and getting me tools to help myself. He was very engaged via the BH Chat and provided numerous worksheets for me to view and work through between sessions. I highly recommend him for someone looking for dedicated, engaged therapy work.

Eric has been such an important part of my support system while I've been working through my past and present traumas. He is kind, extremely nonjudgmental, and committed to helping me recover. I am so grateful and blessed for the opportunity that he has given me to heal from my past.

Eric helped me recognize my problems, provided me a non-judgemental safe space to talk about them and provided me with the necessary tools to stop the issues and be a better version of myself

I really like working with Eric, he is the best counselor I have worked with so far. He has helped me learn so much about myself and I feel I made so much progress this past year with his help.

Eric has completely changed my perspective on things in my life and has guided me on how to best handle my tricky personal life. He is BEYOND understanding and helpful. He truly listens to you and gives you his undivided attention. I couldn't ask for a better counselor. Anyone seeking therapy would be lucky to be matched with someone like Eric.

Eric was really helpful to me. I came to him feeling so broken and hopeless. He was vulnerable with me and his practice of constantly reading and sharing has inspired me to read as well. We do not share the exact same background but he could still connect with me. I'm still using some of the principles be recommended and I'm no longer out of control and hopeless. Thanks Eric

He is quite experienced in his field and just after our first meeting I was able to start implementing some strategies we talked about, I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a therapist for ADHD especially.

Eric Velazquez is an amazing person. We've only had a couple of sessions but I'm already confident in saying he's the best therapist I've ever had. He's attentive, understanding, patient, and accommodating. I can't speak highly enough about him.

Eric 'listens' you and even understand when one fails to express the trauma in to many words. Each individual has a different experience to share and different ways to deal with it. He helps to deal with your stress/anxiety/issues at your pace. Does not rush to conclusions and challenges you to continuosly improve and move past the invisible barriers that one has created around him. He dives deep into your view of looking at things and reasons for it thereby helping you verbalise and emote what you would not dare to say to anyone.

From day one, I felt safe and comfortable with him. He follows up and checks on me. He is sensitive and assertive, and he keeps reminding me that I have to take care of myself. Thanks for providing me a safe and comfortable space.

A great person, and understands a variety of my concerns and can provide personal examples
It's hard to find a counsellor that can be empathetic as opposed to sympathetic
I am confident they are constantly reading and reviewing current information, which is important to me as well. Highly recommended.

This was my first experience seeking counseling. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially online counseling. Eric was the first counselor I matched with. He is an excellent counselor. Eric is easy to talk to, I don't feel judged and I feel safe to express myself. He provides books, resources and worksheets that pertain to the issues we discuss during my sessions. I feel optimistic about the progress I have made and will continue to make while I continue my counseling with Eric.

Eric is an amazing counselor! This is the first time I’m trying online counseling and I’m so glad I did. Eric is relatable, empathetic, and someone who I feel safe talking to. I have more motivation in my life and I’m more kind to myself.

Written by D.A. on Jan 07, 2021 after counseling with Eric for 3 weeks on issues concerning addictions, lgbt, relationship issues, family conflicts, intimacy-related issues, sleeping disorders, self esteem, and anger management

I've never had any kind of therapy or counselling before so I was really anxious about it in the beginning but Eric made me feel comfortable and he managed to create a safe space where I can share anything with him. He always listens to what I have to say and I feel like he really understands what I'm going through. We're making great progress and I would definitely recommend Eric to anyone interested in having therapy, especially to people who might feel uncomfortable during therapy and who might need some time to open up.
