My name is Eric and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been working as a counselor since 2011 following graduating with my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. I began working in the field as a therapist on an inpatient psychiatric unit leading groups and providing individual counseling for several years before transitioning to providing telephonic support and crisis interventions. Through these experiences I have worked with a wide array of individuals from all walks of life to better understand and cope with mental health concerns, specific diagnosis, and life stress.
In therapy my primary style is implementing a person-centered approach to meet you where you are at in this moment, to get a sense of who you are and a basic "snapshot" of the present, discussing and getting an understanding of the current situation that you are experiencing, how it is impacting you and how this led you to seek additional supports and services, then working together to come up with a "game plan" moving forward. As we move forward I often utilize pieces and ideas from Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and as a future-oriented piece Positive Psychology. By working together to set realistic goals and start the process of building up coping skills and strategies moving forward, my hope is that we can walk side-by-side into what hopefully can be a better and healthier future for you.

It's kind of hard to put it into the right words but, he's a good counselor. He does his best to understand the complex feelings that can arise from odd and uncomfortable situations and he has helped me to understand and sort out my feelings. Even when they don't make sense to me.
Eric has been an asset to overcoming my past traumas. He created a safe environment for me to explore my feelings and be vulnerable. Offers great resources and helps me build tools for a better me.
