About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the states of Kentucky.. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children both in individual and group settings. I also have experience working with couples and families. Some clinical issues I have the most experience in include addiction, anger management, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, stress management, and trauma.
A main focus in my treatment is establishing a therapeutic relationship with the person first and foremost as I believe having a good connection helps facilitate effective counseling and provides the best outcomes. In therapy, I am supportive, compassionate, and am present with individuals both in times of struggle as well as times of achievement and progress. I make sure to meet each individual where they are at and actively listen to and respect where they would like to see themselves in the future with the help of therapy.
Working collaboratively with individuals on their treatment goals is a priority throughout treatment and I encourage open communication regarding what therapeutic techniques and approaches work best for the person so as to ensure the best therapeutic experience.
My counseling style combines strength-based, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused approaches to help individuals achieve their therapeutic goals. Identifying one's strengths and coping skills that can be used to help work through various issues is an important part of my therapy approach.
I truly value each individual therapeutic relationship and fully empathize with the different emotions a client may experience throughout treatment. I believe that each individual has the ability to overcome struggles but that sometimes having additional support in the form of therapy can help one to better identify and recognize the coping skills and strengths they already possess.
You have taken the first step in creating a healthier, happier you and I would be honored to help you in that journey!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Erin Smith. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Erin is great! I really like how she checks in on me if she hasn’t heard from me in a day or two. She listens and gives me great advice on what I am struggling with at that time. I think she’s pretty terrific.
I have had 3 sessions with her and have had so much growth in that time. She is understanding and kind. She has helped me see my a lot more good in myself.
Erin is great!
Erin is very patient, knowledgeable, helpful, and always available.
Seems nice and educated
Erin is amazing at assessing what you need and what kind of therapy you need. If you need someone to listen, she will. If you want advice and input, she’ll give it and even send articles and videos to help you understand yourself even better. She’s such a nice person and I’m very happy she’s my therapist!
Erin is a wonderful therapist, I have trouble opening up and she makes me feel very comfortable and lets me ease into the process.
Erin has helped me so much in just one session understand the reasonings behind my behavior and how to combat the issues I have on a daily basis. I feel so much less stress knowing I have tools and tricks to not feeling overwhelmed.
I love Erin because I feel like she relates as a human. I don’t feel like I’m talking to a therapist. I feel like I’m talking to another Mom/wife/friend who just gets it.
I feel like she is super genuine and she is willing to give advice, suggestions, and “homework”, but if I just need to unload all my baggage on her she just listens.
Erin is extremely helpful and able to identify issues very quickly.
She amazing
Erin has been incredible in providing tools to support my goals. I feel like she actively tries to understand issues and provides support in meaningful ways.
Erin is such a great person and therapist. She is quick to respond and always has very good insight.
Great so far
Erin is awesome!! She is a very good listen, but also an amazing resource. She always recommends amazing resources to me to help with any problems I have, and even problems I didn't even know I had! Definitely my fave therapist I have ever had.
Erin is an amazing person. Zero judgement zone and truly cares about her clients.
I always look forward to my sessions with Erin. She is a very good listener (I usually have a lot to say!) And she gives me a lot of helpful insight, tools, links to videos, and recommendations for ways for me to better myself.
Erin has been very thoughtful, professional, helpful and quick to offer many options for continuing to work on issues at hand.
She is good at what she does!
Erin is a great therapist and makes me feel very safe and heard without immediately jumping to fix things. I love her style
Erin is very understanding and offers a variety of ways to approach a situation. Not once have I felt judged in my vulnerability. She is very understanding and makes me comfortable.
I truly appreciate her
Erin has been extremely helpful within the last year I’ve been talking to her. She responds pretty quickly and is very honest and caring. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to just talk to to make thing easier
I’ve been able to discuss more with Erin than I have in years of traditional therapy. Where other therapists have dominated the conversation with self-help and coping mechanisms, Erin listens and still finds the time to offer those solutions without taking away from what I’m telling her. I look forward to our sessions.
I love my sessions with Erin! It’s nice to be able to just get everything out and talk about things that are bothering me with someone who can give sound, impartial advice for the things I’m going through. She manages to keep harsh situations light and I always feel better after leaving.
Have really enjoyed working with Erin, she is great!
At first I was honestly skeptical about using telehealth for therapy, I was worried that not being in person would cause a disconnect, but this has definitely not been the case. Erin has taken the necessary baby steps I needed to get started with therapy and to understand myself, she has always been very responsive and respectful. Erin haaprovided multiple resources for me and I'm very glad I gave it a try!
Erin has helped me out tremendously. She is perfect at acknowledging my situations and why I feel certain ways about my issues. She gives me advice and plenty of resources for me to create solutions on my own instead of her telling me everything directly.
Over the past 3 months, Erin has been someone I can always count on to listen and help me when I need any kind of advice. I look forward to every session I have with Erin and I always feel so much better after them. I tell all my friends about how great she is and I wish I could share Erin with everyone!
Erin is so kind! She's a wonderful listener, compassionate, and always provided me with resources to help work through my problems. I've never been given so many free, external resources from a therapist before - she put in a lot of effort to help. I'm sad to go, but would recommend her to anyone that needs it :)
She reads me soooo well and I'm so impressed with how well she's working with me. It's like she's a perfect fit for me. ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so grateful for Erin! She's been able to provide me with so much validation and encouragement. Plus, she has a lot of resources that I needed that I hadn't even asked for.
Erin is wonderful. She came in my life when I needed her the most. She listens, addresses my worries, explains how to handle my worries and my stress. Encourages me, and make me feel more confident that I can make it through the hard times. She gives me resources on how to handle the difficult situation and how not to let it eat me up. I would recommend her in a heart beat!
Great in her expertise and approach
I am just now coming back to better help after taking a hiatus due to financial reasons. I was excited that I was still able to have Erin Smith as my counselor! She is awesome and always listens and always provides helpful tools for me so I am very happy that she is still able to be my counselor even after all this time has passed.
She's fabulous
She has been helpful in assisting me to find clarity and organize myself to achieve certain tasks. This is mainly what I was looking for in a counselor. I've been going through many life changes that have overwhelmed me and she is helping me put them in perspective. She is also very respectful and sympathetic to grief I've expressed regarding my mother's passing. My issues are fairly normal and I'm not in any way despondent, so I can't speak to how she would be with someone whose having more trouble than myself. I personally just need some guidance, moral support, and someone to vent to in order to get through the life changes that confront me. In this respect, she has been very helpful.
Erin took time to read all of my personal info before meeting with me. She paid attention to details big and small. I felt like our conversation really mattered.
In just the couple of sessions she has made me more confident in going out in public and helping control my anxiety.
I was super nervous for my first video appointment. Erin made it so easy and comfortable I felt it was easy to open up to her after a few minutes. She has a very soothing tone and listens without making me feel awkward. Im glad I found a good match!
Erin makes me feel so comfortable and relaxed I want to tell her everything. she has helped me through such an emotional time and got me off of the emotional roller coaster! I tell people about her and how concerned she is for my needs. it seems as though she checks in with me when I need it most. I would recommend Erin and The Better Help group to everyone in need of counseling.
Erin has been amazing to work with so far! I’ve attempted therapy before, but never felt like I connected with my therapists or could really open up to them. Erin really breaks your needs down & helps you heal!
Would highly recommend working with Erin. She has been extremely insightful, understanding, and responsive.
Erin is wonderful. She is supportive and caring. She listens and responds to my needs and meets me where I am at emotionally and behaviorally.
Speaking with Erin has been great. She supports my goals and has provided tools to help me reach them. I look forward to our meetings. I love she shared her experiences in life which helps me connect to the tools we are equipping me with.
Erin is a Superior Counselor and Human. Period
Very attentive and goal focused A good listener and somebody who has solid responses and honest feedback
Erin is great. Friendly, understanding, and able to somehow empathize with me without letting it get weird or personally opinionated. Absolutely 5/5 star experience with her. I absolutely love working with her and will continue to do so.
Erin has been patient and tends to understand. She provides tons of material and coping mechanism
I have only had two sessions with Erin so far, but she has already improved my understanding of my own mental health and the issues I am dealing with drastically. She is unbelievably kind and a wonderful listener and offers great resources so I can continue to work on and think about my mental health outside of our sessions. She is a lovely person and I couldn't recommend her enough.
Erin has been so fantastic for me. I’ve never tried counseling before and she very quickly put me at ease. The advice, education and resources she has given me are easy and effective. I’ve seen a dramatic improvement in my head space in the past couple of months. She let me know it’s ok to not be ok. It’s ok to realize I’m only one human. I’m forever thankful I was matched with Erin.
great listener and provides the exact information i need to deal with the issues at hand. Always follows up during the week and between sessions to make sure I'm doing alright.
She’s great. Supportive and friendly and easy to talk too. Extremely willing to work at my pace!
so far, interactions have been powerful, meaningful, and helpful.
Erin has been extremely supportive in helping me realize what drives my addiction. I’m very introverted, so it can be difficult for me to talk about what’s going on so I love that Erin is able to drive the conversation and get me to express things that i would normally not let out. She’s given me different methods to communicate and while getting me to open up, i appreciate that she doesn’t push too hard as far as forcing me into a session or topic. She is a great counselor and from what I can tell, a great person as well.
Mrs Erin is amazing she has helped me see what I have been putting to the side for a long time now she is so kind and respects me and what I have been through she has been the one and only counselor that I feel who understands me at this point of my life I will most definitely recommend her for sure.
I really like Erin. I feel like she understands me and how I feel. She’s been very helpful. I like being able to talk to her.
Erin Smith has gone above and beyond my expectations. Her information and opinions are highly valued and I really feel like I have someone in my corner to help me get through the battles of life. Thank you!
I really enjoyed speaking with Erin. She's very easy to talk to.
