Hi, I am Erin McDaid. I have been working for over three years as a clinical therapist with adults, older adults, and older adolescents. I use a goal-oriented therapy style, focusing on areas of strength or need that are determined by the client. My style is no-nonsense and direct. I use a wide variety of skills and techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and motivational interviewing. I often assign homework for clients to complete between therapy sessions (however, I try not to make it complex or overwhelming). I do not believe in stereotyping, labeling, or stigmatizing people. I welcome working with people of all faiths, genders, sexual orientations, political affiliations, and ethnicities.
At an initial interview clients should expect to discuss with me their background (how they grew up, what they have done since high school, any relationship status), their current symptoms, any drug or alcohol use or history, any legal history, and their hopes for what they will get from therapy. During this discussion I will work to clarify any questions that occur to me and to reassure the client that both the client and I are understanding the client’s needs and history. We will also discuss what the specific issues are that brought you to therapy. Be ready to be open and forthcoming. Clients may leave their initial session with a simple homework assignment that will begin to move them forward with their treatment.

Erin was open and friendly from my first contact with Better Help, and it made starting therapy more comfortable and an easier transition.
Erin has been a source of sincere encouragement and compassion over the last few months we've worked together. She is quick to respond to emails, truly listens, and has great insight. She made me feel comfortable with her from the beginning of our first meeting.

Erin is an a amazing counselor! She strikes a great balance of listening and understanding your situation, and offering suggestions and techniques to progress through emotional setbacks and towards your personal goals. I feel very comfortable with Erin as my counselor, and would recommend her in a heartbeat.
When I first started therapy with Erin, I was worried that I would feel judged or intimidated. It was my first time in therapy, and I didn't know how to even start. Erin has been amazing. She has been understanding from day one and provided support and coping skills that have helped me heal from some rough times.
Erin is amazing and always helps me work through my issues. She is really easy to talk to. We just had our first phone session and I was worried it might be awkward but it totally was not and she was able to really draw a lot out of me about what I was concerned about.
Erin is an extremely effective, compassionate, and dedicated counselor. If you're ready to do the work - and yes, therapy is work - she will be with you every step of the way. I highly recommend her.
I absolutely love talking with Erin! She’s given me ways to help my anxiety and if I don’t message for a couple days she’ll check in on me. It’s nice having her there when I need her!
Erin listens to everything I say even when I go off topic. She gives great suggestions on what I need to do to be able to help a better myself.
Erin is a good listener and helps me gather some disjointed thoughts into a more manageable and sensible narrative. Then I can examine the pieces more easily. She is patient and supportive. Sometimes she is more direct if I'm getting off-track too far, but she is never pushy. Erin is smart, thoughtful and energetic. She helps me summarize and define my thoughts. I feel that she has my best interest at heart is helping me find my way. Thank you!
Erin was very sincere and very easy to talk to. She gets straight to the point about things but in caring way. This was my first experience with a counselor and she met my expectations.
Erin has been a wonderful counselor. She is an amazing listener and is so supportive. As a 26 year old woman, I had never felt like a counselor was in touch with what young women are experiencing. I always felt judged. I never felt that way with Erin. She gives the very best type of tough love. I can’t imagine going to anyone else now.
I am loving my counseling experience so far and feel like we are a great match!
Erin is very professional, caring and empathetic. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Erin is AMAZING. I’ve been having a lot of relationship related anxiety issues and she has been what I needed to FINALLY break through my own negative thoughts. She is worth every penny spent and I couldn’t recommend her more. She’s FANTASTIC.
This has been a very helpful experience for me. I thank Erin for always checking on me. She truly has made me feel like I have someone I can talk to and trust
Erin has been wonderful. I am adapting to the new style of counseling and she has made my transition very smooth. So far her advice has been sound and her response time excellent. Sending messages has helped me diffuse the emotions I feel and reduce my anxiety. I look forward to her responses and it is wonderful to feel supported. Her suggestions have helped me think full circle on various issues. It's just nice to have someone to vent to knowing that what is said will stay confidential. Overall, I am impressed with the service, Erin especially. Would and have happily recommended to others.
She is a good listening ear.
