Hi, I am Erin McDaid. I have been working for over three years as a clinical therapist with adults, older adults, older adolescents, and in marriage therapy. I use a goal-oriented therapy style, focusing on areas of strength or need that are determined by the client. My style is no-nonsense and direct. I use a wide variety of skills and techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and motivational interviewing. I often assign homework for clients to complete between therapy sessions (however, I try not to make it complex or overwhelming). I do not believe in stereotyping, labeling, or stigmatizing people. I welcome working with people of all faiths, genders, sexual orientations, political affiliations, and ethnicities.
At an initial interview clients should expect to discuss with me their background (how they grew up, what they have done since high school, any relationship status), their current symptoms, any drug or alcohol use or history, any legal history, and their hopes for what they will get from therapy. During this discussion I will work to clarify any questions that occur to me and to reassure the client that both the client and I are understanding the client’s needs and history. We will also discuss what the specific issues are that brought you to therapy. Be ready to be open and forthcoming. Clients may leave their initial session with a simple homework assignment that will begin to move them forward with their treatment.

Erin was very sincere and very easy to talk to. She gets straight to the point about things but in caring way. This was my first experience with a counselor and she met my expectations.
Erin has been a wonderful counselor. She is an amazing listener and is so supportive. As a 26 year old woman, I had never felt like a counselor was in touch with what young women are experiencing. I always felt judged. I never felt that way with Erin. She gives the very best type of tough love. I can’t imagine going to anyone else now.
Erin is the absolute best therapist I have ever worked with. She is caring, compassionate, funny, and has great ideas on how to deal with my anxiety and depression. I can't say enough good things about her and BetterHelp. I look forward to working more with her and getting to the core of my issues. Thank you so much!
I am loving my counseling experience so far and feel like we are a great match!
Erin is very professional, caring and empathetic. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Erin is amazing. She listens when I need it, she gives advice when I want it. I am so happy I tried her via BetterHelp
Erin listens well and helps me to sort and summarize my thoughts. I'm dealing with a complex situation and it helps to talk about it out loud. She is open-minded and impartial. I appreciate her expertise, personable style and obviously caring personality. I also appreciate that she is not too careful and has identified and told me some things that were not easy to hear. She trusts that even though I'm already dealing with something difficult, I can handle the additional information and that it may be helpful to me in evaluating my situation. Thank you Erin.
Erin is AMAZING. I’ve been having a lot of relationship related anxiety issues and she has been what I needed to FINALLY break through my own negative thoughts. She is worth every penny spent and I couldn’t recommend her more. She’s FANTASTIC.
This has been a very helpful experience for me. I thank Erin for always checking on me. She truly has made me feel like I have someone I can talk to and trust
Erin has been wonderful. I am adapting to the new style of counseling and she has made my transition very smooth. So far her advice has been sound and her response time excellent. Sending messages has helped me diffuse the emotions I feel and reduce my anxiety. I look forward to her responses and it is wonderful to feel supported. Her suggestions have helped me think full circle on various issues. It's just nice to have someone to vent to knowing that what is said will stay confidential. Overall, I am impressed with the service, Erin especially. Would and have happily recommended to others.
She is a good listening ear.
