Erin Murphy, LPCC
About me
Hi! My name is Erin and I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor (LPCC-S). I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I am licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and have been practicing for over seven years.
I have worked with clients who have long-term goals or needs including individuals coping with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, recurrent depression, OCD, generalized anxiety, and social anxiety. I have also worked with clients who have had shorter-term needs including individuals coping with an episode of anxiety or depression or stress as related to life changes. I do practice trauma-informed counseling and have experience working with individuals diagnosed with PTSD or other trauma-related issues.
Outside of strictly mental health counseling, I also offer counseling for problems in living, personal issues, relationship difficulties, and similar personal and interpersonal problems. I work to provide an open and welcoming space so that we can better understand you, your specific strengths, as well as your goals. To learn more about me and what therapy is like with me, you can click my name on this page.
I believe that one of my roles is to understand you, your strengths, your challenges, and your goals so that I can introduce you to techniques that will be effective in helping you reach your therapeutic goals. I have studied several counseling techniques, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (PTSD). Ultimately, I consider myself and Integrative Therapist; I strive to constantly improve my knowledge of empirically supported therapy to provide the help my client needs. I do not believe that one treatment type fits everyone.
I see myself as a guide on your journey toward achieving your goals. My aim is to be supportive and empathetic while also providing you with the tools you need to achieve these goals and others you set before you.
