About Me
Thank you for taking the time out to view my profile. Finding the right therapist to meet your individual needs is a very important step and I am hopeful that I will be able to assist you. I find great passion in assisting my clients in meeting and surpassing their full potential.
After I obtained my Bachelors degree in Psychology, I continued my education and received a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am licensed in multiple states, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Supervisor, a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider. I have experience with working with individuals of all ages, ethnicities, races, religions, sexual orientations, and genders.
Although I use multiple counseling techniques (Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered, Solution Focused, etc) in order to meet my client's individual needs, my work with clients is primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy perspective. I believe that the connections between rationality and emotion as well as mind and body are essential in accomplishing behavioral change through logical thinking. Becoming more aware of damaging automatic thoughts and acquiring the ability to revise cognitions impacts one’s behaviors and ultimately may lead to positive change. In addition, I hold a great appreciation for the unconscious and the power it has over one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The intimate process of making the unconscious conscious is a fundamental step toward growth, development, and change. Being able to recognize how unresolved conflicts from the past influence the present and manifests in unhealthy cyclical patterns gives one the power and confidence to take control.
It is my belief that therapy is an intense, engaging, rewarding, and collaborative process. One of the main purposes of therapy is for one to gain a deeper understanding of self by exploring personal experiences, perspectives, and expectations. Regardless of the presenting issue, I provide my clients with a high level of respect, honesty, and genuineness. After successful completion of therapy, it is my hope that my clients will be able to incorporate what will be presented throughout therapy sessions into multiple life circumstances.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Farah Westbrook. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Farah in my opinion is a one of a kind resource. She offers a wide range of support, both orally and materially. She seems very educated in her profession, yet her approach is very personable. I feel blessed to have such original, compassionate, and patient support!!
Good
I'm very pleased and comfortable with Miss Westbrook.
Farah has been amazing to work with! I have learned a lot from her and appreciate her insight!
Farrah addressed my needs in a caring, empathetic way and made me feel like I was heard. She gave me tools and resources that have helped me immensely. When/if I return to better help, I will return to Farrah. Highly recommend.
Farrah is great and solutions oriented! I like working with her!
I always feel extremely calm after talking with Farah. Her suggestions provide a POV that I never considered, which is extremely helpful to me in understanding, accepting and working through my feelings. I highly recommend Farah.
Farah is the best! I was very nervous when I started therapy because it was my first time, but Farah has made sure that the experience has not only been educational but incredibly beneficial to me. She listens to understand rather than listening to respond, which has been helpful to me when working through some tougher issues. She tailors each session to what I need to focus on and she never tries to do more than I’m comfortable with. We always have fun in our sessions, which I did not know was possible with therapy.
Farah is the best! I don’t mean good, I mean the best! First, I am a therapist myself so when I was seeking a therapist I was kind of picky and tried a few others first. When I started working with Farah I was so impressed. She has a great ability to know when to listen and when to make a suggestion and her suggestions and interventions are spot on. She seems to genuinely care and you can tell she really puts her heart and soul into her work. She’s relatable and makes things feel comfortable and easy but is also efficient. I feel like I’ve made months of progress in just a few short weeks and found fresh motivation where I had been lacking for months if not years.
Farah is a truly fantastic counselor! I love that she puts an emphasis on psycho-education as it helps me understand my own experience better. She is very friendly and a natural at drawing out any issues that you may not even realize are plaguing you. In our short time together I have made a surprising amount of progress! She also makes sure to dive right into coping mechanisms for whatever is bothering you, which is KEY. I am very thankful that I was matched with her and would recommend her services to anyone!
She is a great therapist
I am so thankful to have Farah in my life. I've used app-based therapy in the past and it's been helpful but she is such a good fit for my needs that it makes a world of a difference. There's so much value in feeling listened to and respected. I welcome her guidance and look forward to the research articles she shares periodically for further growth.
Farah is an exceptional counselor. She is clearly dedicated and really listens and cares about my issues. She has helped me a great deal in my healing.
She is an amazing angel. So calming and kind and patient and accepting. As this is my first time in counseling I think I lucked out with her. As a queer person too, finding a counselor is so intimidating based on all the horror stories you hear but Farrah is so accepting and truly wants me to be comfortable in my own skin.
Farah is one of the most genuine and kind people I have met in my life.
Her help and guidance really helped through a lot of difficult times.
Kudos to her!
I appreciate the time Farah takes to listen to what I’m saying and processes it so she can find the best intervention. Her voice is also calm and soothing. It makes me feel comfortable.
Farah is very understanding and very knowledgeable. She definitely helps with my mental state and she responds very quickly. I often feel like I’m venting to a friend when I message her. She is great and very highly recommend her
Farah Westbrook is a great counselor she does great work and is kind and caring she responds to me when when I express my concerns and checks in on me regularly. I highly recommend her services.
Farah has been amazing so far in the few short weeks I have been working with her. I already feel changes in myself that I have strived to achieve for years. She has also given me the tools to succeed in the long run and exercises to help me when needed
I reached a point in my life where it felt like I hit rock bottom. I was depressed due to losing my job and having issues with my loved ones. I felt stuck and I didn't know what to do to become better.
It was my first time ever enrolling in counseling, so I was very inexperienced with what to do. During my first interactions with Farah, I was feeling so many emotions that I could not process and figure out the root of my depression, so I typed out all the negative feelings I was experiencing, and all the issues and struggles I was going through. Farah was very patient and very understanding and she was able to organize everything that I was feeling and pinpoint the root of the problem. She was very reassuring that I will be okay and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. She was there for me whenever my feelings were overwhelming.
Farah helped me get through a very dark and difficult time in my life. I am very thankful that she was there for me and was able to help me process and understand my emotions and help me figure out a way to move forward. Now I can happily say that I have overcome my depression and I feel reassured that Farah can help me out whenever I feel lost.
Although I have moved past my depression, I continue to be enrolled with Farah just to be prepared in case I face any more difficulties with my emotions.
Farah has been very supportive to me through several concerns including sexuality, career and life transitions. I like the questions that she poses as they really help me to understand my perspective further. And I feel respected by her. Highly recommend!
Farah is an amazing therapist. She is empathetic and kind, and it’s evident that she exhibits these traits in all areas of her life. So she is not only my therapist, but a role model as well. I am incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to work with her.
So far, so good. She’s great!
Farah really listens, and she seems to pick up on what is left unsaid, which is surprising and helpful. She offers positive support and tips that I’m using in day to day life. So far, even just talking things out with her and using the tools she is providing, I’m feeling more confident in myself.
I started talking to Farah at the beginning of 2020, and she helped me unpack so much of what was bringing me down daily without any judgement whatsoever. She is attentive and knows exactly what questions to ask. I'm so thankful we had started our communication before Covid hit and maintained it throughout. I feel equipped to move on now, but I will miss her!
Farah was amazing. She is compassionate, understanding, and kind. I always appreciated her prompt responses following rough days and nights. I truly felt heard and understood. Farah definitely was an amazing counselor to me.
Farah is a kind and attentive counselor. I’m such a short time with her I feel comfortable and reassured. She is very knowledgeable and involved making the therapy experience very personal and productive. I am very happy I was matched with her. Her voice is so sweet and calming, a true Gem.
Farah is so easily approachable. I immediately felt comfortable sharing and opening up to her.
Farah Westbrook is one of a kind counselor. Initially, I was hesitant about joining betterhelp because I wasn't use to distance counseling. Yet, Farah has far exceeded my expectations and I am so grateful. I'm learning so much bout reactionary behavior and healthy coping mechanisms. Thank you Farah for such a wonderful experience. I would recommend her to anyone!!!!!
She is very well versed in psychology and very helpful including ways to live a better life everyday
I’ve been working with Farah for a couple months now and have really appreciated her presence during this difficult times. She’s really listened to my needs and provided good exercises to help me cope with my anxiety and accountability to make better decisions on my own behalf. I also just love hearing from her because I feel comfort and calm just hearing her voice. I’ve already made progress in curbing my addiction and finding peace in places I’ve been searching for it my entire life. I’m so grateful I got paired with her.
She is so awesome, caring, present and I highly rec her !
Farah is really a great therapist. The first session I had with her, I immediately felt a connection. Her tone is very warm and she always listens to what I'm saying and helps me unpack things. I've been in therapy for a long time and she is definitely one of the best I've had. I have a really intense job and she is always patient with me on completing the homework and responding to her. I feel like I have a lot of great resources now to work with. One thing about BetterHelp is that the sessions are only 30 minutes so getting on the background information and forming a relationship takes a while in the beginning. However, Farah is really responsive when you message her.
One of the best counselors I’ve had. I immediately felt comfortable working with her. She’s great at adapting to your needs and I would highly recommend her.
Farah is great, opening up and taking with someone with no judgement makes everything a but easier
Farah is an amazing person to talk to. Some things I am embarrassed to talk about, I have never felt judged by her. She listens and respects me. I enjoy speaking with her.
Farah is honestly super awesome. She sends a lot of helpful information to help with what you're dealing with. She also provides a good unbiased opinion about things.
Farah is very easy to talk to, she's nice and energetic and really makes me feel comfortable. I always have the feeling she listens and she's really helped me understand things I wasn't able to see on my own.
Farah has been instrumental in keeping my mental health as centered and secure as can be during this uncertain pandemic time. She is always patient and supportive, listens and encourages key/new perspectives that have ultimately helped me process through whatever issues I bring to the table.
Farah Westbrook is the best! Very qualified and gifted in her craft.
I first started working with Farah in mid to late January of this year, so roughly a month and a half before covid-19 really hit the U.S. I was already dealing with depression and anxiety at the time from what I could tell, and the pandemic has only made it worse, as I'm sure it has for others with similar struggles. To provide some context, this is only my second time working with a therapist. My first experience was lackluster and frustrating, as I'd already been adamantly opposed to therapy for myself in the first place. So when I was initially paired with Farah, I was still very skeptical in the beginning and my expectations, frankly, were not high. Since then, she's proved to be kind, consistent in checking in even when I'm not — during a pandemic at that — and genuine. Even more importantly though, through working with her, I feel like I'm finally able to start unpacking and trying to make sense of the negative experiences and issues I've had, but stifled and bottled up for years. She hasn't ever been judgmental, which was a general concern of mine with therapists, and she's actually helped me begin to understand the "why" behind my struggles. Not only that, but she also provides educational resources with both explanations of common struggles people may have/why they may have them and practical methods/strategies that can be used to help remedy them in addition to the therapy itself. Overall, being in therapy itself is still a mental/emotional adjustment for me, but I feel optimistic that with Farah's help, I'll come out better than when I entered it. Please don't hesitate to book a session with her — she's great and really works to ensure you're getting the most you want out of therapy. I daresay, you'll be glad you did.
Working with Farah has been so refreshing. Farah is always professional and warm in our sessions. It has been comfortable to open up when we work together and I feel that progress has been made since we started working together. I highly recommend working with Farah.
I came to BetterHelp when I was in a really tough place mentally, and I’ve been feeling a lot better since thanks to Farah. Her homework helps me to be mindful of the tools I have to help myself, and she’s always quick to respond to messages or journal entries. Farah has been fantastic!
Farah is extremely patient, straight forward and a great listener. She gives action centered guidance and makes you feel very comfortable and at ease. I recommend her to anyone looking for counseling!
Farah has been an amazing addition to my life. Not only is she great at helping me process my feelings and experiences in a healthy way, but she always makes herself available. Day or night, Farah is there.
I've had a great experience with her! I am not frequent but when I need help she is generally responsive, and offers great advice. I don't feel like I am being judged when she reads my journal entries. I would recommend her to a friend!
Farah is truly the greatest and has been so helpful in my journey. She is friendly, caring, thoughtful and attentive. I started my journey with her due to the pressures of covid and she has helped me through. Her expertise has made a world of a difference. Highly recommend!
Farah is great. Excellent listener and can make sense out of the confusion in the thoughts or stories you share with her. She asks all the right questions to help get at the core of your issues, and gives honest feedback while being gentle and understanding. She will look out for your best interests and always put you in a position to get the help that you most need.
Farah is very good at listening and then asking a question that gets to the heart of the matter. She is quite perceptive and communicates very well. Her style is one that makes you immediately comfortable with her.
Farah is a wonderfully supportive counselor who brings a genuine honesty and compassion to her work with clients. She also shares useful tips weekly that are relevant to taking care of ourselves to be our best Self. Thank you again! ❤
Farah is the first counselor I’ve ever had. My experience with her gives me a lot of faith in therapy, and I’m excited to continue processing with her for as long as I can
Great work. She knows that you need help when you reach out in that moment and also takes the time to get an understanding of the underline issues that you have been going through.
I have only have two sessions with her, and I have read her input she provides.. It is helpful.
She makes me feel as if my problems can be taken care of. I feel very comfortable with her. I always look forward to our sessions.
Farah is a kind and gentle counselor who's expertise and professionalism comes through clear to give a sense of calm and confidence with me as her client. I have never had the sense that Farah makes assumptions about me or what I am feeling and instead finds ways to pose questions that strike at the core of what can oftentimes feel like a swirling dust storm of thoughts and emotions. I would certainly recommend Farah to others seeking support with working through their feelings and finding healthy solutions.
She is amazing. She is patient, kind and knowledgeable.
Farah has been a terrific anchor during a rocky and lonely time in my life. It helps immensely to know I have someone in my corner, who doesn't just do the basic validating I need, but also challenges me to try new approaches to the same old problems. Her wisdom is what makes her a true gem of a counselor. Nearly every session, she has a new perspective or idea that I hadn't thought about before (and I think about everything a lot!). I'd highly recommend working with her.
Farrah Westbrook is intuitive, wise and a generous listener with constructive questions for me to regain my best self.
I have found this is the most beneficial counseling! She is very understanding she listens well - doesn't give too much advice where not needed, just more self-motivation and self-confidence. I'm very thankful!
Farah is completely non-judgmental, and has helped me discover some things about myself I didn't know. She's encouraging, and helps me achieve goals.
