About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I have been working in the mental health and addictions field for 20 years. I have been a Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist for the past 7 years and continue to work with those who battle mental health, addiction, and trauma. I have worked in a variety of settings including dual diagnosis residential treatment, in the community, and outpatient treatment. I have had experience working with a broad range of disorders in the past 20 years. I have the most experience with depression, anxiety, bi-polar, schizophrenia, addictions, anger management, trauma, personality disorders, family and relationship conflicts, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
My counseling style is a combination of exploring body, mind, and spirit and meeting each person where they are at. I believe that each person has the ability to recover and that each person is entitled to feeling respected and heard. I believe that everyone has the power to break a cycle and to not live in the stigma of their symptoms and everyone deserves the gift of grace. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psycho-education, Compassion and Resilience Cognitive Therapy, and humanistic treatment approaches.
Each person has a story to tell and a journey to take. It is my hope that each person is able to tell their story with confidence and remain safe on their journey. My goal for each person is to feel a sense of peace and calm in knowing that they no longer have to live according to the stigma. I honor each person's journey and their courage to explore with me and entrusting me to assist them.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Francesca Smith. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Francesca has helped me tremendously. I’ve been working with her for six months and have no plans to stop any time soon. I notice a major difference in my life and overall mindset. Thank you, Francesca! :)
Francesca has been excellent in helping me with a number of issues. She listens and helps give great advice.
She has been truly supportive with me. I had two sessions with her.
I've been in counseling with Francesca for about 10 weeks and she has always been kind, comforting and willing to meet me where I was each session. She is very considerate, open minded, relatable, and interested in learning all of you. Her feedback is always thoughtful and constructive. She is so helpful in learning how to combat negative emotions with truths.
She is down to earth and I don't feel afraid to share my views because she is open minded. She also listens and gives great feed back and exercises that are helpful and easy to do in order to improve your mental health. Thank you!
Francesca is very sweet and listens and understands.
she was amazing and very happy to help
Francesca is a wonderful councilor who takes the time to understand her clients so that she can better meet them where they are at. I’ve enjoyed every interaction with her and already learned so much from just a few sessions. Highly recommend!
Francesca has been a god send for me. Her knowledge in a multitude of areas is evident when talking with her. She listens with care and gives you the tools that you need to become successful in navigating your emotions and positive thinking. She is prompt in returning messages and is available all the time for discussion. I highly recommend her.
I was struggling finding someone to fit me and my therapy needs. It's still relatively new, but Francesca is quick to smile and laugh, to be light hearted, but to also delve into hard thoughts and feelings with understanding, intelligence, and a willingness to listen. Looking forward to continuing our path together.
She is very communicative about everything and makes me feel like she really has my best interests at heart. I feel like I have improved a lot under her guidance and really think she has made a big impact on my life and the way I view things in life. My life has changed for the better thanks to her.
Thank you Francesca!
Francesca Smith is a wonderful counselor!
Francesca is wonderful!! She has been supportive, understanding , and encouraging. I feel like she is very gifted and in tune with those she helps. Thank you so very much Francesca!!
Her experience shows as the interactions become more dynamic. She’s definitely supportive and her feedback is helpful, especially if I get sidetracked and need redirection to reduce or deal better with my own stressors. It’s also helpful to have a sounding board - a place to express the issues.
