I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in California. I have an MA in counseling psychology from Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University) in Palo Alto, CA. I practice a holistic and somatic form of psychotherapy. That means that in my work I integrate traditional focus on thoughts and feelings as well as the body and the nervous system. I have extensive training in Sensorimotor psychotherapy aimed at helping people overcome effects of developmental trauma and PTSD and develop inner resources for emotional well-being and self-regulation. I have pursued this training, because research and clinical experience show that trauma, especially early childhood trauma is often a root cause of many challenges that we all face at one time or another in our lives, including relational, family and social conflicts, depression, anxiety, addiction, mental and physical illness and many others.
I specialize in working with people living with chronic and invisible illness and their caregivers. Both through my work at a hospital and county clinic settings and personal experience I am familiar with the plight of people who are disabled because of chronic illness, or are caregivers to someone living with chronic illness. Many people live with debilitating and/or gradually worsening physical symptoms caused by a variety of medical conditions that often make them unable to work full time, engage in social activities, or sometimes leave their homes or even their beds. Physical illness is often accompanied by emotional distress from living with difficult symptoms, chronic pain, fatigue, uncertainty about the future and erosion of social connections and intimate relationships. People living with these circumstances for a long time may experience gradual disappearing from society and often feel “invisible”. If that has been your experience, I am here to provide support and advocacy for your journey towards regaining your health.
Additionally, as a first generation immigrant from the former Soviet Union I understand the challenges of acculturation, loss of home, and the legacy of transgenerational trauma that many first generation immigrants have to face adjusting to life in the USA, and the long lasting effects of this significant life transition.
I love helping people develop resilience and discover ways to live fulfilling lives no matter their history or current circumstances. Foundation of my work is in the warmth of human connection and respect I have for my clients, their lives, experience and wisdom. I offer support and practical tools to deal with stress, overwhelm, anxiety, grief, loss, depression, anger, and difficulties with relationships. My goal is for us together to discover what what works for you and to support you in using this knowledge and any new skills you learn in the course of our work together in your life going forward.

Galina is a talented and caring counselor. I am thankful every day for the patience, compassion and expertise she has shared with me.
Galina has been very helpful. She is also addresses all topics.
Galina is the best therapist that I have ever worked with in person or online. She is compassionate, empathetic and understands my experience and mirrors back that experience accurately and provides actionable invitations for personal growth . I am very thankful to have been linked up with her and want to continue therapy ongoing with Galina for as long as possible.
Galina is a wonderful therapist and human being. She is incredibly attentive and truly cares. She also has a multitude of experience and skills that she brings to our sessions. I appreciate her so very much and feel lucky to have found her.
In my first video session with Galina, I feel like weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Galina listened to what I had to say and was responsive to my needs. A clear difference from my past therapy app, Galina asked pointed questions and listened to my answers. One hour went by in what seemed to me like minutes. Her follow up was detailed and immensely helpful. I look forward to our continued relationship in the future and I really do see a benefit in her services.
Galina was warm, friendly and a great listener. I really valued all her knowledge about areas that really interest me: mindfulness, the negative bias, anxiety calming methods, etc.
Galina has surpassed my expectations of online therapy. She is candid, respectful, insightful, and thought-provoking. She is accesible and flexible, making it convenient to receive the help I need to get to a healthier state of mind and peace. I know that with Galina’s help, I will get to where I want to be in time. I couldn’t have asked for a better therapist and overall experience in such a short time span.
Galina is patient and kind. She listens and gives great ideas and is very supportive. You can feel her overall concern and care for your health. She’s fantastic!
Galina understands how to help me and gives me the right resources to look at. She understands how I feel and never suggests anything that would make me feel uncomfortable. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
I couldn't have asked for a better match in a therapist. She understands what I am going through and takes the time I need to help me and to talk through things with me.
Galina understands me better than I understand myself! She helped me to realize the cause of my anxiety and what my triggers are. I’m so grateful for her knowledge and expertise as it has led me to learn so much about myself.
Galina is incredibly helpful! She listens to every problem I have and finds the best solutions to help me through it. I have had a pretty rough go of it lately and Galina has helped me so much and helped me to see that there is hope. I highly recommend this program and Galina to anyone.
I never thought in my wildest dreams that there could be anyone so fine tuned to help with my specific issue. I am so grateful for the help and to not feel alone. My head feels on a little straighter and my heart and soul can follow.
I've only spent a few sessions with Galina but I appreciate that she seems to really listen to what I say. She offers very in-depth feedback and poses questions that help me explore my own thoughts and feelings. I'm new to therapy but she's helped me feel more comfortable with this platform. I'm grateful to have been matched with her! Thank you!
Galina has helped me so quickly with panic and self-doubt that I thought I’d never be able to overcome. I feel the ability to be completely honest and vulnerable with her, and it’s not overwhelming and she uses a variety of different tactics to calm me down in the moment and build long-term peace as well.
Galina is incredibly supportive as a therapist. I came into therapy looking for support and resources to address my anxiety - she helped me identify root causes and triggers of my anxiety and work through them in a impactful way and at my own pace. She responds quickly and addresses all of my concerns effectively and with compassion. I struggle with anxious attachment patterns, letting emotional baggage from past relationships go, and enjoying the happiness and safety my fiance brings me (happiness is foreign). Galina has helped me with all of those big life issues, so that I can heal the past and finally, for the first time in my life, enjoy the present and feel secure in my relationship. Galina is a combination of best friend and mother that I wish I had, and is so clearly an expert in her field. I cannot recommend working with her enough.
