About me

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, with over a decade of experience in the field.

I work with people looking to improve their emotional well-being, build healthier relationships, make life easier and move forward from the past. I provide a solution-focused and compassion-based space that is relaxed, safe and productive.

As a registered therapist, I am trained to work with many issues including:

Anxiety – Many of us deal with overwhelming feelings of worry and stress that can make it difficult to live the life we want. I can help you understand and manage anxiety using a combination of CBT, talking therapy and other evidence-based techniques that recognise our individual experiences and needs.

Depression – Persistent sadness and the sense of emptiness that comes with feeling low can be isolating and make it difficult to see a way out. Together we can uncover the roots of your feelings, why it’s happening and find a path forward and a way out towards emotional well-being.

Relationship Challenges – Navigating conflicts with partners, family members or friends can be complicated and make us face a lot of our own insecurities. Therapy can provide a space where we can explore communication patterns, enhance interpersonal skills and build healthier connections and boundaries.

GSRD – Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity – I provide affirming support and understanding of queer and non-heteronormative ways of living and being, including LGBTQ+ issues, ethical non-monogamy and alternative lifestyles.

During therapy, I can help you:

Develop Coping Mechanisms – We will explore strategies to navigate challenges more effectively. We will work towards cultivating self-awareness, developing resilience and improving communication skills.

Explore Identity and Self-Discovery – I can help you gain a deeper understanding of who you are, what you value and how you want to shape your life.

Set and Achieve Goals – Together we can look at a future where you can navigate challenges with resilience and experience greater peace of mind. We will also set and achieve milestones that align with your values, passions, and long-term aspirations.

I create an open, safe environment for you to speak freely and honestly, supporting your vulnerability and encouraging you to challenge yourself to aid your growth. Listening, understanding and exploring along with evidence-based techniques and practical tools underpin my approach.

I have a wide ‘toolbox’ of techniques and theoretical knowledge so that we can find out what works best for you. Everyone is different and therapy should be adaptable to your individual needs and preferences.

Reaching out for help can be daunting, but it’s a powerful act of self-care. Each person’s story is unique, and I am here to listen with empathy and without any preconceived notions. You don’t have to navigate your struggles alone. Together, we can work towards understanding your emotions, identifying patterns and developing strategies to make life easier.

About Me

I have worked in private practice as well as several community-based settings that provide specialised support for various communities of type or location. Outside of therapy, I have several years of experience in the charity sector, where I ran a mental health organisation for young people. Throughout my therapeutic career, I have worked with individuals from the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa who have faced a broad range of issues.

My qualifications and training cover a wide variety of humanistic therapeutic approaches in addition to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Brief Solution Focused Therapy and coaching skills.

I have lived experience of being queer and disabled. I love pop culture, music, reading, and reality TV.

I changed therapist to Gareth and I would do it again. He is patient, respectful and supportive in our sessions. Also, he offers material for me to work on between sessions which I appreciate.

Great therapist that really knows which direction he should go in during therapy and how to apply the theory to everyday situations. Additionally, he provides great material to focus on in between sessions and gives methods to use in your daily life.
