About Me
After working in the field 42 years, with the LISW license for 25 years, the therapy work in office has been the most recent, with in home work before. Both these settings have provided a background for working with individuals, couples, and families. Located in rural Iowa, the practice has been a generalist approach while using a Brief Solution Focus approach. My training has included Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and I have provided clinical supervision to the local CISM team. During November, 2001, I spent 10 days in New York City working as a Red Cross volunteer providing mental health services. This crisis counseling while different than ongoing therapy, was a very positive experience. Working with older adults has increased during the last years of my full time work, being able to connect with elderly.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Gary Ogren. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Gary is the best counsel I’ve ever had. He’s such a real and considerate person and has an incredible personality and match it up. I really feel like it can be open with him and a way that I haven’t felt with most other counselors, not only do I consider Gary to be my counselor but in a lot of ways I consider him to be my friend. I’ve been so honored that I’ve been able to receive help from Gary and my life has truly changed around since I started working with him. He allowed for me to have faith in myself and deal with problems in a more effective and efficient way. If regular counseling hasn’t worked for you or you’ve had trouble finding a counselor that really speaks to you Gary is an excellent example of how to really connect one on one with a who he’s helping. He’s incredibly funny and incredibly caring, I really could go on all day talking about my appreciation for the impact has left on my life if you’re reading this review, even just having three sessions with him will leave you having a different perspective than you did originally and that’s some thing that is extremely hard to fine.
I've had only 2 sessions with Gary, but I'm happy with how things are going so far. I find him caring, kind, warm, and easy to talk with.
Excellent counseling.
