Gary Schmidt, LCSW
About me
Therapy is a chance for you to gain insight into your personal journey through life. In therapy, you may find it easier to identify your strengths and make lasting change. I am committed to creating a safe, comfortable space to explore your challenges and access self-compassion around your unique experiences. My role is to honor the parts of you that seek support as we build towards integration and overall wellness.
I am experienced in addressing anxiety, depression, and general stress. My work is informed by attachment theory (how we connect to others and ourselves) and mindfulness (awareness and acceptance). I use a variety of different therapeutic approaches based on the individual and their needs.
I understand reaching out is difficult, just know that I am here when you are ready and we can discuss your needs and how I am able to support.

Gary is a super calm and mellow person. I am able to talk with him and not feel judged. I would recommend him to anyone that asked.

Gary has so far been one of the best therapist I have ever had after the 2-3 I’ve experienced. He always listens and takes a deep dive into any word you say or any situation you bring up. After the few sessions we’ve had he has always found a way to keep it different and not the same every time. He also makes sure not to give me any homework which is amazing for me a full time college student and collegiate athlete I barely have time in general. Lastly Gary is very good on time and working his own schedule to fit yours.
