About Me

Hello. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Iowa. I have over 11 years of experience working with individuals of varying ages to overcome everyday life challenges. I have experience with those struggling with depression, anxiety, /trauma, family and/or parenting issues as well as relationship and career concerns.

My treatment approach is open and honest. I will incorporate cognitive-behavioral , rational-emotive and client centered approaches with skill training in mindfulness activities to help clients feel more grounded and calm. However, I am always focused on what the needs of the client are and will individualize to the clients specific needs. I do have specialized training in EMDR and Play therapy techniques. EMDR is a treatment for trauma related issues and Play therapy techniques involve utilizing play as a way to process through feelings and trauma.

Gina has been wonderful for me. All the things I THOUGHT were my problem and I was stuck on ended up not being it at all. Talking it out with her and having these realizations has given me so much peace. She’s had me do worksheets which have been helpful in pinpointing other problems because I see them. I’ve also learned that a lot of this is just brain based as opposed to how I’ve always had negative self talk saying I should’ve been over things already. Since I’m finally working through the problem instead of pushing against it, my overall happiness has skyrocketed and my interactions have become much more positive.

Gina has been extremely helpful. With her help, I have been able to get back to my better self and see what was getting in the way. I am working on tools and ways to break through and be happier and more emotionally stable with her. Thanks Gina!

The work she and I have done on boundaries in both my work and personal life these past five months has been incredibly productive. But more importantly, it has created room for me to really look at where I need to do my own emotional work. And now, she and I are shifting gears to that work. . . I LOVE her.

Gina has been helpful through this process. She asks thoughtful questions and challenges me with goals we come up with together. She is responsive when I message her and I've found the video sessions most helpful.
