About me

Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Wisconsin and Minnesota (LICSW). I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work from Loyola of Chicago. My professional background is wide and diverse.
I began my professional life as a Registered Nurse (RN) working in trauma. During that time I continued my education in Social Work, earning a Master in Social Work (MSW) and a Ph.D. I have had the opportunity to work in schools, community mental health as well as private practice. I was also very fortunate to be able to spend 20 years as a Social Work educator, teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate level.

My approach to clinical work is from a strength perspective. Intervention strategies are determined collaboratively. I believe that one of the keys to the effectiveness of our work together is based on relationship that we are able to form. Recognizing the need for support and reaching out to find it can be one of the most difficult parts of the process. If I am the right clinician for you, I look forward to beginning this journey with you.

I am very comfortable sharing with Dr. Fennell. She readily understands my situation, reinforces the good, and gently encourages me towards strategies to improve myself. In a short time I have learned a good deal from her insights. She is kind and sympathetic, and I feel she cares about my family and thinks about my situation between our conversations.

Dr. Fennell is incredibly helpful to me as I work to improve my understanding of what I can and cannot control and letting go of some things that were causing me stress.

She’s also helped me learn how to better frame my communication with my husband and that is helping both of us.

I look forward to our sessions and feel I am on a better track with being healthy and living with intention. Will definitely recommend her to a friend!
