About me

Hi , everyone. My name is Gretchen. I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Utah. I have been working in the mental health counseling community since 2013 in both medical clinics and private practice. I have had experience counseling a broad range and severity of clinical issues. Most of my experience has been working with faith transitions, the LGBTQI community, complex trauma/ PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I have an eclectic approach in therapy sessions and have seen most clients find success through a variety of therapeutic techniques including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Sand Tray (very fun and insightful), CBT, and psychodynamic approaches.

I am friendly, compassionate, empathetic, and curious (...which means you'll rarely sit in silence while feeling uncomfortable). Knowledge is power, and I love sharing any insights that will help. I look forward to getting to know you as we create a successful counseling relationship. :)

Gretchen has a good eye for cutting through to the problem. She responses timely and follows up with me.

Gretchen is amazing. My results were not typical but she asked me all the right questions for me to see how I was harming myself.

She is a very kind and easy person to talk to! She is an amazing listener and her type of therapy makes you feel like a weight was lifted off of your shoulders after each session. Highly recommend

Gretchen has been a revelation. Just so amazing. Touching on things no one else has ever asked me in 25 years of on and off counseling. Love talking with her.

I like that she understands what makes me uncomfortable and doesn’t force me to do things that will make me uncomfortable. She also listens to what I think is happening and will add on to what I think with things that I haven’t thought about regarding my situation. It helps me understand more why I do/don’t do certain things
