Gwendolyn Gonzalez, LCSW
About me
Gwendolyn Gonzalez offers clients an opportunity to learn to live in their truth while they understand other individuals' perspectives. In sessions, clients will understand their triggers and identify healthy coping strategies that match their lifestyles. In my training and experience I have learned to serve as an active listener, understand different perspectives, support individuals with reframes, identify themes/patterns of behavior, and recognize the noble intent to shift one's perspective and behavior. I have been in the field of social services for the past 16 years. I am trained in different evidence-based and informed models, including multi-systemic therapy, functional family therapy, and mobility mentoring. I have over six years of experience working in the child welfare sector and I am trained in the trauma-focused treatment and domestic violence counseling.

She’s just wonderful
Written on Jan 23, 2023 after therapy with Gwendolyn for 1 year and 6 months on issues concerning relationship issues, grief, intimacy-related issues, and compassion fatigue
Gwendolyn took time during our first meeting to get to know my needs for therapy, listened to my concerns, took time to ask about my current situation and coping mechanisms and took time to even explain to me her expertise that allowed for me to put trust into her as my therapist and allowed for me to have the confidence to carry on booking appointments with her for the foreseeable future.
