I’m a down to earth, understanding, empathetic and compassionate therapist with a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. I walk with you in connecting your past experiences with todays’ concerns and support you on the journey to feeling confident in managing and talking about your emotions, as well as understanding why and who you are today.
I combine psychotherapy, Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other approaches to ease the process and guide you towards making the decisions that you feel are right for you.
I have worked as in integrative Counselling Psychotherapist in the UK for over 6 years and have significant experience in helping clients with a wide range of concerns such as trauma, abuse, relationships, depression, anxiety, fostering, parenting, motivation, self-esteem, confidence... the list really goes on!
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared. With me, you can feel accepted and valued for who you are without fear of being judged. With mutual trust and openness, you will know that you have not just been listened to, but also heard. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage so well done, and I am proud of you for getting started!
What do I love about counselling:
Apart from the obvious response of being able to help others on their journey through life, I most enjoy the moment a client makes the connection between a past experience and current behaviour. Such a game changer.
That said, what I love the most about counselling is the Pandoras Box it opens. As a client you may come to talk about one particular issue, but once that box opens..!
Other Interests outside Counselling:
I enjoy creative arts so in my spare time you will find me either painting, or morphing into my sofa watching a film.
I am keen on supporting my community and have sat on several boards including two schools, Rape Crisis, and a local community centre.
I was also a foster mother for around 10 years.

Gwen is an amazing therapist and I would recommend her to anyone. Working with Gwen has been one of the safest and most supportive experiences I have ever had. From the very first session, she felt warm, understanding and genuinely present with me. I always felt heard, seen and held with care, even on the days when I struggled to find the words. She offered thoughtful insights and practical strategies that helped me understand myself more clearly and navigate some of the most difficult moments in my life. I am deeply grateful for the space she created and for the way she supported me throughout our work together.

I have had many therapists and Gwen has been the first therapist where I have felt I can truly be myself and share with no judgement in a safe space. I leave with areas to reflect on and she supports me with recognising key areas of myself that I want to grow. Thank you Gwen I appreciate all your time and skills in helping me through challenging times of reflection.

Gwennie is empathetic and offers manageable strategies to support me. She allows me to lead the session and talk about whatever I feel comfortable discussing. She creates a safe space in which to open up and be vulnerable. It’s like talking to a friend, which takes away the anxiety of the sessions. She is not judgemental, in fact she validates my feelings. I’ve found an absolute gem in Gwennie.

I’ve been seeing Gwen for over a year now, and I truly can’t say enough about what an incredible therapist she is. From the very beginning, she created a space where I felt completely safe, understood, and supported - even if I decided to go with someone else. She has this rare ability to see through me, not just the words I say, but what’s underneath them—and she gently challenges me in ways that make me grow as a person.
What makes Gwen so special is her warmth and compassion. She’s sweet and kind, but never in a surface-level way; she deeply cares and it shows. At the same time, she never hesitates to nudge me toward growth, yet she does it in such a gentle and natural way that I don’t even realize I’m being pushed until I look back and see how far I’ve come.
No matter what I bring into our sessions, I know she’s in my corner. She offers both insight and encouragement, meeting me exactly where I am while also helping me move forward. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who is not only skilled but truly invested in their well-being - I've changed so much in the time I've been speaking to her, and it's been a life changing experience with her.

I started the therapy with Gwen during a very complicated time in my life and from the first moment she was able to give me a lot of comfort. She made sure to let me know it is important I will feel safe with whichever therapist I’m working with and I can always feel free to change therapist if I want but I didn’t, it feels like a perfect match. Gwen is patient, kind, professional and honest which is what I appreciate about her the most. I love the fact I feel comfortable to say whatever I want knowing I won’t be judged for it but also know that she will tell me the truth no matter what. I’ve been working with many different therapists is the pest and so glad to find one like Gwen. She’s golden!
