About me

Greetings and Welcome to Better Help. I am a licensed Independent Social Worker in Clinical Practice in the state of South Carolina. I am certified in Plant based Nutrition and as an Organic, Living, Plant-Based Nutrition and Hippocrates Lifestyle Medicine Coach. With over 40 years’ experience in the helping profession and 8 years as a practicing therapist/clinical supervisor, I have had the privilege of working with individuals with a range of concerns, presenting problems and life challenges.
I believe in a Holistic approach with an awareness of the mind, body, and spiritual connection as we strive in becoming the best version of ourselves. My primary focus through a trauma informed lens is to support those seeking services with evidence-based strategies and interventions in addressing their presenting concerns while achieving their highest potential. Our difficulties and struggles in life are often related to limiting beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world. By identifying these limiting beliefs and thoughts through specific techniques, specific skills can be mastered in achieving joy, happiness, and empowerment in the areas of safety, trust, power/control, esteem, and intimacy.
My approach is compassionate, interactive, and engaging in supporting and coaching individuals in applying coping skills mastered in sessions to real life, making therapy and counseling more effective, efficient, and meaningful. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion and work beyond the limitations of stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, psychoeducation and cognitive processing. I am a certified Cognitive Processing Therapy Provider, a specific evidence-based approach to reduce the impact of trauma and other stress related symptoms.
It takes courage and risk taking to seek for a more joyful, more fulfilling, and happier life. I applaud and support you in taking this step towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to our work together.
