Hasan Moody, LCSW
About me
My name is Hasan. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Hunter College graduate experienced working with adolescents, young adults, and middle adulthood. I have been in the field since 2013, working in the Department of Education (DOE) providing counseling to adolescents, as well as at an outpatient clinic servicing young and older adults as a psychotherapist. On a personal note, I am a person of faith, and as of this year a first time father, both of which fuel my passion for this work.
Growing up in East Harlem, I was always the one my friends came to for advice. I've always had a heart for partnering with people to help them navigate challenges. To now harness this passion as a professional I work from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution-Focused (SFBT), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) modalities of therapy in my practice to support my diverse clients. I am strengths- based in my approach and never pathologize, regardless of diagnosis.
Rapport and trust are integral in a successful therapeutic relationship, and this will be at the center of our work. I know firsthand how difficult it can be finding a therapist that is competent and with whom I can connect, so I’m intentional in providing the most authentically meaningful experience I can for my clients. I'm excited to work with you.
