About Me
Hello, I have more than 22 years of experience providing individual, group and family therapy within both outpatient and inpatient settings, I would be honored to assist you along your journey of self discovery and healing.
I live in Texas and have worked in the mental health field assisting people from diverse backgrounds with issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, grief, trauma recovery, divorce recovery, work related stress, postpartum depression and mood disorders.
I have worked with people from all over the world, different cultures, religious faiths and backgrounds. I am familiar with many unique cultural and ethnic differences, and the wonderful diversity within the human family. I feel that we are all more alike than we are different in that we all just want to be loved, to feel safe, to contribute something meaningful to our families and to the world.
Additionally I have been running a women's group therapy program for more than 12 years focusing on the unique needs related to women's mental health across the life cycle.
Compassion, warmth, unconditional positive regard and creative problem solving are my hallmark style and approach to counseling and therapy. Healing the heart, I believe, is the key to resolving many of life's challenges and finding the strength to create a fulfilling life.
As a highly sensitive person myself, I have knowledge, understanding and experience working with highly sensitive people in my practice for many years.
With a combination of professional experience, extensive research and education, personal healing work over 30+ years, and yoga therapy education, I can offer a rich variety of counseling tools and knowledge to assist you in creating a life that works for you.
I value your dignity, intrinsic worth and free will by honoring your innate wisdom and intelligence. Self compassion, mindfulness, meditation practice, healthy coping skills, improved emotional resilience, nutrition, and communication skills are many of the resources that I have to offer you in your healing process.

I cant thank Heather enough. She has sent me on a path to loving myself. I feel like a better person in a short amount of time. Blessed!
Heather is amazing and seems to know me better than I know myself in the short amount of time I’ve been talking to her. She is seriously awesome and I love that she can even call me out on things I’m doing and tells me things I Need to hear. She has helped me connect with myself and learn things about myself that I didn’t know. I HIGHLY recommend her.
Heather is great to work with and easy to speak to. She listens to my concerns and offers good advice or materials to look into. She also sends multiple positive messages throughout the week.

Heather is absolutely wonderful! She truly listens, is compassionate and empathetic. She asks the tough question and isn't afraid to "go there", but does it in a way where you still feel in a safe place. I have made huge breakthroughs that I have never been able to make in therapy before.
She is so kind, wise, and professional. I recommend her to everyone because she is so caring.
Heather understands everything I am going through and is helping me to navigate through my issues. She is very knowledgeable and I would recommend her to anyone, especially women over 35.
Went to a lot of therapists and Heather has been the most thoughtful, kind, patient and informative. She makes me look forward to speaking with her.

My counselor is a perfect match. She is so compassionate, knowledgeable, and understanding.
Heather is only the second therapist I've worked with, but I can already tell she is special. Her follow-up even before we had our first session was incredible; she provided a lot of background to her practice and concepts.
During our two sessions so far, she's been very attentive and listens to what I'm saying. She's provided strategies to deal with the things I'm going through, and has followed up between sessions to check in.
I have really enjoyed having Heather as my therapist. It seems as though she truly cares about what I have going on in my life. I feel she tries to give me the best tools to help me combat them and work towards a better more stable future.
I’ve been working with heather for a little over 2 months. I think she’s great! Our sessions have been very helpful and supportive and I can’t wait to work more with her.

Talking to Heather is very simple. It’s like talking to a priest. I can open up and let loose without fear. Heather also provide great views and ideas. However, the best quality so far is how honest she is.
