Hi, My name is Heather Payne and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I have been a mental health counselor for 9 years. My first career was a Registered Nurse. Life comes with unexpected twists and turns that may leave us confused and unsure what our next steps should be. Your story and challenges are unique to you, and I am here to help you remove any stumbling blocks that prevent you from living your best life.
I love working with individuals adults, children, adolescents, and couples. There is no "one size fits all" in counseling and we will work together to find tools to help you move forward toward a healthier self and stronger relationships. My job is not to solve your problems, but to meet you where you are and provide a safe, accepting place for you to create your own solutions.
As well as being a licensed counselor, I am a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor, Certified in Animal Assisted Play Therapy, and hold a certificate in Thanatology which is the study of death and dying. One of my passions is working with people who have experienced trauma, grief and /or loss. While grief and loss are normal parts of life, they are very difficult experiences. Sometimes it takes some extra support to move forward. I can help. I also work with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, and a variety of other issues.
