About Me

We all have times in life when our inner strength is challenged and in those moments having someone with you makes it easier. I use techniques that can easily be fit into a busy life. We will work together to create a counseling space where you can be yourself and feel cared about. I want you to get back into the flow of your life where the weight of your burden is lifted from your shoulders! It will feel like taking a deep breath of fresh, clean air. You will find new ways of being that can last and bring new energy into your life.

As a counselor, I have been working in the field since 2007. I was trained to use a Person-Centered, Humanistic approach to counseling. This type of counseling relies on an unconditional positive regard for the client. This means, that you can be yourself in your therapy sessions. I utilize traditional interventions as well as some alternative practices. Every intervention has clinical science to back up its effectiveness. I think it is important to explore skills and techniques in order to find the way that best works for you. My goal is for you to finish counseling with changes that last a lifetime.

Heather is a really great therapist. It took me a little bit to warm up and feel comfortable, but now I feel like I can share anything with her without judgement. She is very insightful and I feel like her advice and encouragement are tailor made for me. She is thoughtful and considerate with her approach. I'm grateful to have been paired with her.

I've worked as a professional counselor in the past and I am very impressed with Heather's ability to identify my "stuck points", and also, with her skills in assisting me to begin to move through them. I've only been working with her for a few weeks now but I am already seeing significant changes in my life.

Heather Tromp has created a space where I can comfortably express myself honestly. She has been considerate and empathetic with my thoughts and emotions, and best of all can analyze, dissect and advice on the different issues I’ve spoken to her about.
