About Me
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in Pennsylvania and Delaware with over 10 years of experience working in multiple types of settings; including, Outpatient Settings, Transition Homes, Schools, Communities and Client Homes. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including; trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, blended-families, foster care/ adoption, and other issues pertaining to transitions and developmental stages of life.
Maya Angelou once said, “ My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. “ I try to embody this beautiful quote in how I counsel my clients. I believe that the keys to our healing are within us and that with support, compassion, respect, and sensitivity we can overcome those real and perceived barriers keeping us stuck. I utilize an integrative style that includes theoretical practices such as; Systemic, Narrative and others, I try to meet my clients where they are and utilize the methodology that most speaks to their needs.
You have taken the first and most courageous steps towards being healthier and happier by realizing that you need a change and support in making those changes. Arthur Ashe stated it best when he said, “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
I am happy to be a part of your journey and a resource to support you. I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Helen Ford. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I’ve been talking to Helen for about maybe 2/3 months straight now. Honestly she’s amazing. And it makes me very happy and content to be able to get on my phone and shoot her a message whenever I need to. I can always count on her to give me some realistic and good advice. She’s gotten me through quite a bit of hard times. Which I greatly appreciate. Hoping that she sticks around on here for quite a while.
She is a great listener and provide great advices
Helen listens to me and provides feedback. She always check in and sends me activities to do. She is definitely my go to
Helen has offered some perspectives into my situations that I have not previously been offered in therapy. She is frank and guides conversation well, as well as provides exercises to explore on my own time for independent growth.
She’s compassionate and understanding while also not being reluctant to tell you eye opening truths. This is my first time going to therapy and I feel so comfortable talking to her about myself
Ms. Helen Ford is an astounding counselor and over all person. She leads with humanity and patience and makes conversation feel natural, not clinical. She is warm and relatable, which makes for very comforting sessions. She is amazing at what she does.
So far Ms. Ford and I have had one session, but I feel completely comfortable with her. She makes me feel like all of my feelings are valid, no matter how menial. I appreciate her so much already.
She is a good person that is very helping and understanding.
Helen is an absolute maverick with what she does. Sometimes I consider myself hard to teach, but Helen makes it easy for me to learn from her without feeling patronized or disciplined.
Helen Ford has been a Godsend. She always gets back to me quickly and addresses my concerns. She communicates diplomatically yet firmly in a way that doesn't hurt my currently fragile psyche. I have actually already recommended her and prefer her to any counselor I have been to thus far. This form of communicating feels more personal I think because the counselor isn't looking away writing while I talk. So it makes me feel she is fully listening instead of multi tasking. The first thing I did this afternoon when I felt stressed was to check to see if I had a message from her, YES! Being able to write it out to her is therapeutic and enables me to feel calmer. You have a good one in Helen Ford. I sincerely feel like she does care and that she is committed to helping me through this crisis.
Helen has been through a lot with me the past few months and really has helped me with all the issues that I bring to her. She is really good at listening and really good at giving advice when I need it.
A lovely and caring person, very professional and helpful! I feel talking with her is worth the time!
So far Helen is great. I would definitely recommend.
Helen truly listens to me. She pushes me to think about my situations and she works with me to help me find the answers myself. Our counseling sessions are more of a partnership. Even in the short amount of time I've been working with her, I can see a large improvement in my mental health.
