About me

Hello and welcome,

I'm Hendrina Sterling Rodríguez, a bilingual Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over 10 years of experience across the NHS and private practice. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II), Clinical Hypnotherapist, and was honoured to be recognised as Online Therapist of the Year, South West England, in 2024/25.

My approach is warm, reflective, practical, and focused on helping you navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.

I work with concerns such as:

• Anxiety and stress
• Burnout and emotional overwhelm
• Self-esteem and confidence
• Relationship and communication difficulties
• Life transitions and personal growth
• Emotional regulation and self-awareness

I integrate counselling, CBT-informed strategies, attachment-based perspectives, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Gottman-informed relationship principles.

I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection and active participation in the therapeutic process. I will support, guide, challenge, and encourage you, but I do not tell people what decisions to make or how to live their lives. My goal is to help you build trust in yourself rather than become dependent on therapy.

Between sessions, I may suggest reflective exercises, journaling prompts, self-awareness questions, or optional psychoeducational resources to help you observe your patterns and arrive at sessions with more clarity. These tools are optional and are not a substitute for therapy, crisis support, medical care, or emergency services.

To ensure the best fit, please note that on this platform I do not provide intensive psychodynamic therapy, long-term trauma processing, crisis intervention, hypnosis, or highly directive coaching. If you are looking primarily for advice, ongoing reassurance, or someone to solve problems for you, another therapist may be a better fit.

If you're looking for a thoughtful, collaborative space to better understand yourself and create meaningful change, I would be happy to support you.

As part of your reflection between sessions, you may find two optional resources helpful.

You are welcome to listen to my mental health podcast, Reinvent With Balance with Hendrina Sterling Rodríguez, where I explore emotional awareness, self-reflection, stress, relationships, and personal growth in simple, accessible language.

You may also use Echo Journey, a reflective journaling tool I created to help people organize thoughts, emotions, and patterns between sessions.

Both resources are completely optional. Echo Journey is not part of BetterHelp, does not replace therapy, and should not be used for crisis support. Please continue using BetterHelp for therapy communication, and if you are in crisis or feel unsafe, use emergency or crisis resources immediately.

Only bring into session what you feel comfortable sharing.

Warmly,
Hendrina
