Holly is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. She holds a doctorate in counselor education and supervision and a master’s degree in professional counseling. Holly has been working in mental health for over 12 years as a counselor, educator, and supervisor in a broad range of settings including community-based clinics, non-profit organizations, and private practice. She has taught in master’s level courses, facilitated educational and professional development workshops, and presented at national conferences.
Holly specializes in anxiety and panic disorders, anger management, substance use, and complex trauma. Holly has also lived abroad and understands the joys and complexities of being an ex-pat. As part of ethical disclosure of limits of scope of practice - and since these questions are often asked - Holly DOES NOT have specialized training in borderline personality disorder, dissociative disorders/DID, OCD, porn/sex addiction, or eating disorders. She has extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, persons of color, and persons living with HIV. Using a combination of Adlerian, Feminist-Intersectional, and systems theoretical orientations, Holly takes a direct, practical approach to assisting clients. Whether you are looking for skills to manage stress and related symptoms, support with assessing options in order to make important decisions, or you are ready to dive deep into change, Holly can help you to meet your goals. She typically responds to messages within 12 hours.
Holly believes that therapy requires active participation and commitment for progress to occur. While messaging can provide a base for information and updates to be shared, she expects her clients to engage in live sessions (video or phone) on a regular basis. If you are only interested in messaging or text sessions, you will need to find a different therapist. These regular sessions - 45-50 minutes at least every two weeks - allow for direct interaction and communication for skill building to alleviate symptoms, identifying and addressing dysfunctional patterns, resolving trauma, etc.

She is lovely
Amazing lady! Can recommend her to anyone in any situation. Very understanding and knowledgeable.
I feel confident in Dr DeGrand’s advice and I feel like she can always relate to what I’m sharing. Dr DeGrand explains what’s happening in my brain in an easy to understand yet Educational way so I can make sense of my situation, I’ve found every session so useful.
I am so happy that I have found Dr. DeGrand. She has been quick to understand my struggles and needs, and my sessions with her have already been very helpful. She has a lot of insight and knows about a variety of issues that many counselors might miss or be unaware of (in my personal experience). I feel very comfortable talking to her and can highly recommend her.
I really like Dr.DeGrand! I feel very comfortable talking to her about my problems, she’s very understanding
She's the best!
I always leave sessions with Dr. GeGrand feeling heard and encouraged, with a clear idea in mind of something to focus on that week.
I've been having weekly chat sessions with Holly since January and I definitely feel an overall improvement in my mental health. I would definitely recommend her as a therapist.
Dr DeGrande is safety to me. Dr DeGrande is direction for me. She’s like my GPS and security blanket all-in-one. Thank you.
Brilliant insight and analogies brought to you by:
Dr. DeGrand has provided a great space for openness and honesty while I am working through a tough time in my life. She provides really clear tools that I've been able to use in between our talks. She also does an excellent job of not only providing this advise, but also explaining her reasoning and even the science behind her suggestions. Possibly most important, she listens to me and quickly gained an understanding of what my primary concerns were, and she has helped me keep focus on those concerns with realistic goals.
Dr DeGrand has been very kind and knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. Ive learned ways to help manage my anxiety and which has helped me to get out of bed when other days I wouldn't have. I would recommend her to anyone!
Thank you Dr. DeGrand
Dr. DeGrand is amazing. Shes changed my life for the better. I've recommended her to several friends, and family members. Shes very straight to the point, honest, a good listener and provides me with amazing skills to work with and keep me on track. I can never thank her enough.
I have only worked with Dr. DeGrand for a short time but I really appreciate the combination of her just listening but also giving me concrete steps to follow.
Holly (Dr. DeGrand) is a very empathic, calming and competent presence. She always made me feel cared for, and felt extremely present, both during our calls and also in between. Her greatest ability is definitely presence, and making you feel seen and heard, paraphrasing what you told her in a new way, which makes you realize what you’re actually trying to say. As of method I wasn’t a hundred percent sure, but that’s not always the most important and she made me feel that for the first time.
Dr. DrGrand has been hugely helpful to me in working through my traumas and C-PTSD and is easy to work with, knowledgable and friendly. I would definitely recommend her if you are wanting to work through trauma and try EMDR
So far she’s great! Very knowledgeable in the areas I need help in.
Wonderful therapist. Incredibly helpful.
Dr. DeGrand is amazing. She really knows her stuff and how the brain works and have great technics to keep it wired and working. She is also very supportive and understanding and has a great sense of humour, but she also knows how to gently call you out if is needed. I really enjoyed talking to her in each session no matter the format and I will definitely miss her. I couldn't recommend her more.
There's a comfort in being able to share my issues with Dr. DeGrand and more so in the fact that she gives her 100% to make you feel understood and welcome even if things might seem petty to me - she will for sure help you see clarity in what is unclear.
Dr. DeGrand is the first therapist who’s fully understood my struggles and actually gave me exercises on how to overcome these. I never experienced such amazing help before and I’m truly grateful for this app to suggest me a therapist that matches with me perfectly.
