About me

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor with over twelve years of experience as a counselor and psychotherapist. In addition, I bring over forty years of wisdom gleaned from working with individuals who prove time and again the resilience of the human spirit gives them the ability to overcome odds to find an optimal quality of life.
Each person not only has their own unique challenges, but they have the capacity to be their own teachers and find answers within, therefore each treatment plan differs accordingly. Your concerns and purpose for seeking counseling will enable me to develop an effective treatment plan that will help you to find wholeness. My counseling style is to create a nurturing environment that invites openness and transparent authenticity by being a listening presence. I highly value human dignity and am a non-judgmental respecter of persons and find that there is an innate goodness in all persons. This goodness is at the core of our work to help you find balance of mind, body and spirit in all areas of your life. I specialize in relationship issues, self-esteem, self-worth and identity concerns, conflict resolution, anger management, depression, grief and loss, feelings of shame, trauma and abuse, spiritual discernment and whatever is troubling your soul that needs mending in order to give you inner peace and joy.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jacquelyn (Jackie) Burns. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

There are not enough great things I can say about Jackie Burns. Jackie is full of knowledge, kind words and wisdom. I was hesitant about BetterHelp, but being paired with Jackie quickly changed my perception. She encouraged me, gave me strength and a smile on days where I thought those things would be impossible. There was never a day I logged off without thinking “I’m so thankful for this woman”. With her many years of insight, it seemed that she was just the person I needed. Thank you to BetterHelp for pairing me with the best therapist and thank you Jackie for holding my hand and helping me through all the days - good and bad - you are simply the best.

I appreciate Jackie's wisdom. She approaches my thoughts, beliefs and our conversations with a breadth of counseling and biblical knowledge in addition to worldly common sense.

She’s truly amazing. She asks clarification questions if she doesn’t fully know what I’m trying to say. She hears me and my worries.

I started seeing Jackie at a very difficult time in my life. She has so much wisdom and offers so many tools to be able to work through different issues. She has helped me to make significant progress with the traumas I have experienced and continues to help me understand myself and my goals. She also has a great sense of humor and is clearly passionate about helping people. I can’t say enough about how she had positively impacted my life.

Jackie is amazing. I have only met with her once but she listened carefully to my situation and provided the perspective I needed to get through a painful family situation. Through chat, she has continued to support me with great advice and solid tools I can use in the future. I highly recommend Jackie!

Jackie has been great. She's very easy to talk to and has been available when I needed advice/to be talked down in an impromptu situation. She is very caring and holds me accountable while also addressing root cause issues. I'd recommend her highly
