Jaclyn Jorgensen, LPC
About me
I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling & a Graduate Certificate in Holistic Health from Western Michigan University and have been formally trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan and I am also a Board Certified Tele-mental Health Counselor (BC-TMH). I have been working in the human services field for over 15 years with a variety of professional experience including grief & loss work within hospice organizations, coaching those with Traumatic Brain Injury to be able to practice independent living skills, student counseling in university setting, and outpatient substance abuse counseling. I spent over 6 years working as a full time therapist in an intensive hospital-based psychiatric treatment center specializing in treating those with depression and anxiety. In 2018, I transitioned into working full time in higher education, providing therapy and mental health education to students in a college campus setting. I find great fulfillment in seeing people grow and change in this environment as they work through the challenges of life transitions.
Now, I have been with BetterHelp since March of 2017 and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to embark on this adventure of web-based counseling with you. What I am hoping to offer you is guidance to assist you in navigating through your life transitions, stressors, and life-changing decision-making processes. With my breadth of knowledge and experience in various areas of counseling, I have developed the skills necessary to be able to help you to see yourself as a “whole person” and really dig into what you want for yourself in the future. I will gently challenge you to take steps toward reaching your goals and will assist in helping you to tackle your own thought processes that have been barriers to you in the past. I hope to begin working with you soon!

Jaclyn is professional and empathetic. She never ever misses a session, I can totally count on her being there when she says she will be there. She’s great at responding to my messages. Her advice is sound and thoughtful. I very much appreciate having Jaclyn as my counselor. She has helped me through many tough times now. It’s been many years that I have used BetterHelp for counseling and I can honestly say that because of Jaclyn’s help I am a better person. I have identified what makes me angry, what those real feelings are, and figured out how to slow my responses and be more thoughtful with my responses. It’s been a game changer for me as a wife, mom, friend, daughter. I’m so grateful I get to show up as a better person for those I love. That’s what really matters.

Jaclyn is kind, patient, and understanding. She has helped me through a myriad of issues - and makes me feel comfortable sharing even what seems to be the silliest of details. She is an excellent listener and challenges me in a gentle way, encouraging me to seek a deeper understanding. I would highly recommend!
