About me

Hi! I’m Jacqueline but you can call me Jackie. I received my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both the states of Florida and California. I am currently employed within the Jackson Health System as a licensed clinical social worker in the Crisis Emergency Department at Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital in Miami, FL. This fast paced, high stress working environment has afforded me the opportunity to polish up my quick thinking and sound clinical judgment in order to ensure the safety of our patients. I have seen our patients at their worst and have come to realize how important it is to have consistent therapeutic support in order to maintain health and wellness.

I am originally from Los Angeles and before moving to Miami, I was employed at Twin Towers Correctional Facility and Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles, CA for 6 years. I performed mental health evaluations, psychotherapy, crisis counseling, and provided discharge planning for severely mentally ill patients within the correctional setting. I became regarded as a persistent and dependable social worker who utilized excellent communication skills to advocate for all patients, as well as becoming an integral part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

I am extremely empathetic, passionate and my goal is to help you achieve yours. This a judgement-free zone and I am here to actively listen to your concerns and needs. My counseling style is laid back and I want you to feel as comfortable and safe to talk about anything you wish. No topic is off hands! My approach combines Cognitive-Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and client centered approaches. I see every patient as their own and no one case is the same. Your treatment plan and the flow of our sessions will be uniquely adapted to your own personal needs.

I'm so proud of you for taking this first, big step! I am here to support you and walk alongside you on your journey of change.

I look forward to working with you!

Coming into counseling/therapy can be a difficult thing. Jackie has made this so normal. She understands my goals and supports me in every step of the way. She doesnt push on doing things a certain way but rather allows me to take the lead and guide myself with that extra support and extra guidance . This is the beginning of a long journey but in a short month i see the difference and i got paired with a great person who is making it this much better. She is truly amazing!
