About me

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read more about me. I am a therapist licensed from the UK (I am currently based in Sydney) with over 15 years' professional working experience in the field of mental health. I have supported hundreds of people in over 50 countries worldwide. My therapy style is warm, respectful, non-judgmental and compassionate. I am very supportive, available and very much in your camp! My approach is Person-Centred psychotherapy which believes that given the right core conditions and support, you have the power to make the necessary changes to lead a more balanced and fulfilled life. If we work together, I would tailor our sessions and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

I have experience supporting adults of all ages in a wealth of areas such as stress, anxiety, overthinking, relationship issues, motivation, self esteem, confidence, depression, LGBTQi, coping with a significant life change, feeling stuck, grief and loss and much, much more. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Together we would work to overcome those challenges.

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilled and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process every step of the way. How counselling works? We would build a trusted, working relationship, where you feel safe enough to open up about your thoughts and feelings. We then work together to prioritize your worries and work in a solution focused manner so you can see your progress and also where you might be a bit stuck. With my help we can look at any unhelpful patterns of behaviour and set about to make positive changes. The counselling journey is just that, a journey and you may move backwards and forwards over the weeks until you reach your destination! This is perfectly normal and I'll be here to help you.

For your information, in general my practice days are Monday to Thursday (earlier finish on Friday). I don't generally work weekends, but if you need a session, please reach out and I would do my best to accommodate you. If you send me any messages outside of our sessions I tend to check my messages once in the morning and once in the afternoon (sometimes more) and respond accordingly. You can also book a 45 minute live phone, video or chat session with me ahead of time - all you would need to do is visit my schedule and book a date and time to suit you. It's a good idea at first to get into the routine of having a session at least once a week if you can (for the first four weeks then we can review).

Please note that this site is not geared up for or appropriate if you are in crisis or in immediate need of help. In a crisis situation, I urge you to please get the help you need by contacting your local emergency services.

If you are ready to take the next step and feel I might be the therapist for you, then I very much look forward to working with you. If I've not addressed anything that you would like answers to, please feel free to message me.

Warm regards
Jacqueline

I feel very well supported by Jacqueline. I feel she really understands how I am feeling and provides me with a lot of great, helpful information. She checks in with me and always answers my messages. I am so grateful to have therapy I can access anywhere!

Jacqueline is a fantastic listener; she makes me feel heard and understood and has a gentle and kind approach, which really works for me, personally. She helps me rememeber what's important, and recognizes that sessions can often be heavy, and helps me get back to a good place before our sessions end. She clearly shows her care and empathy, and it is apparent that she has records of our conversations that she can reference in future sessions. Her involvement in the therapy chat messenger has also been a great help to me, as I am able to share content with her outside of our scheduled call times. I look forward our meetings, and feel a little bummed when the call ends, to be honest :)

The only reason I wouldn't recommend her is that I would prefer to keep her to myself :D

Jacqueline is an incredibly empathetic and gentle therapist. I worked with her through the worst of my trauma and I was very glad to be in her hands. She tried her best to understand me and what I needed, and I’ll always appreciate her for that.

Jacqueline really listens and understands exactly the things I have a difficult time processing alone. She provides tools that are beneficial to my overall growth. I was completely apprehensive about starting this process but she has made me feel completely comfortable and welcomed.
