About me

In my 15 years providing clinical therapy I have worked with various individuals experiencing different life challenges. My "ideal" client is one that is looking for guidance and support to resolve mental health issues, life stressors, transitional issues, and/or identity issues. The goal is to create a connection and from that connection build a bridge to healing and recovery.

Social justice drives the work that I do personally and professionally. I specialize in the following: -Anxiety -Depression -Bipolar -Schizophrenia -Personality Disorders -Trauma -LGTBQ -Women’s Issues -Oppression based trauma -Life -Racial Identity Challenges.

Therapy is not about weakness, it’s about strength. The courage to face the pain, accept it, and continue on despite it. We are on a journey together, one that includes tears and laughter. Authenticity in terms of my own experience and journey, along with the use of humor, allows me to create warm, safe space in order to develop a strong therapeutic bond.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jacqueline Shelton-Espinosa. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Dr. Espinosa was a key resource in a difficult life transition especially during the pandemic. After a couple years of working on my own without our weekly sessions, using the tools she provided, I'm finding myself back here for her resourceful help. I only came back for her and was so happy to see she's still with BetterHelp. Hoping she can help me make it through the another life change again. I don't know what I would've done without her.

My time with Jacqueline has been very beneficial. I like that I can work out my thoughts and feeling with her, and at the end of sessions I have more clarity on my own self. She is very understanding and supportive.

Jacquelin Shelton-Espinosa is a wonderful counselor. She is a supportive listener who creates space for patients to air out what they need to air out. She provides helpful and insightful follow-up questions as well as recaps on my growth in relationships over time. She is very sweet and we have had a few moments that felt very real and honest on a human level. A very fulfilling experience!

Jacqueline has been there for me every step of the way and has only encouraged the best from me. Getting counseling for myself has to be one of the best things I've ever done, and Jacqueline helps make that a reality no matter how hard I probably make it for her!
