About me
Our life experiences affect all of us in unique ways. Many people struggle to integrate what has happened to them in a way that allows them to feel comfortable in their own bodies and have meaningful relationships with others. If you feel stuck with overwhelming emotions or unhelpful patterns, we can work together to get you unstuck.
Whether you are dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, couples issues, or addiction; I can help. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25 years of experience helping people. I have worked professionally in outpatient behavioral health settings, residential treatment centers, and Hospice. Additionally, I have trained hundreds of other professionals to assist people with their mental health needs.
I have a great deal of experience in trauma informed approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and other modalities. I am trained in EMDR; and my recent professional interests include Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing. Life is not one size fits all and neither is effective treatment. Together we will find the right approach for you. I am looking forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals and become a happier, more fulfilled person!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for James Grande. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I feel that Jim has been very good at helping me to get a good understanding of what it is that I'm dealing with, where those issues stem from and identfying what I can do to address them well. He's shown me several techniques to ground myself and to look at what it is that I can manage and what I can't manage, what I have to do to address my issues and has shown me a way out of negative thinking. I highly recommend Jim to anybody who wants to move away from negative thinking and build self-confidence

He really got me from the beginning and I feel comfortable, this is super important because it creates the right environment for me to feel like I’m doing “the right thing” for myself. He is a wonderful therapist

Jim has been so helpful as a counselor, confidant, and friend. His compassion and patience make me feel safe and supported during our sessions, and I appreciate his ability to hold space for my urgent issues while also gently guiding me to continue the deeper work that I'd like to accomplish during our time together. Though clearly an experienced professional, he never assumes the "expert" role but rather acts as a sage guide and partner in my journey to gain more self-awareness and create a more fulfilling, meaningful life. I am grateful for his humor, kindness, and flexibility, and I always look forward to our sessions.
