Best therapy experience thus far

James is a great counselor who is thoughtful about the questions he asks, the directions that he steers our conversations, and the resources he recommends. I always left our sessions feeling positively challenged to put my mental health first that week through small steps that led to big change. He responds promptly to messages and is attentive and kind during calls. He struck me as the kind of counselor who will meet you at whatever place you're at and help you move toward where you want to go, while keeping you in the driver's seat, with no backseat driving.

James is amazing. He is thoughtful in every word. He lets the weird silences hang which really forces me to go deep and ask myself the questions that are driving my growth. He’s always on time, will go over time if I’m late because he cares about his patients and his craft.

James has a very tender approach to counseling, which I am not used to, but I think is very beneficial. Instead of talking at me, he creates a dialogue and tries to have me come to my own conclusions, be more understanding and considerate of others, as well as reflect on myself and my actions. James is always thoughtful and kind, and I think he’d be an excellent choice for all thinking of receiving guidance.

I can't wait for my weekly session with James! It's refreshing to be able to speak genuinely and not only feeling I am acknowledged for where I am at, or how I feel, but also gently offered to ponder, reflect or journal on a thought or a question so as to give myself an opportunity to get deeper in my thinking process in between sessions.

James has an ability to balance active listening and offering something to ponder about with gentleness and compassion. He always find a way to celebrate my personal successes, big or small. His sense of calm brings peace to each and every session and interaction we have.
If you are like me, someone who is in search of that "Je ne sais quoi" that is more than having a therapist or counselor to talk to, with James you are in good hands! I highly recommend him.
