Working with James Sanniola has been a genuinely grounding experience. From the very first session, he created a space that feels safe, steady, and free of judgment — something that I feel is important while I am navigating the deep loss of my partner and rebuilding my emotional footing. His approach to grief therapy is compassionate but also practical, helping me understand my emotions without getting overwhelmed by them.
James listens with real presence. He doesn’t rush, doesn’t minimize, and doesn’t rely on clichés. Instead, he offers thoughtful reflections that help me recognize patterns, make sense of what I’m carrying, and move forward at a pace that feels appropriate. His guidance has already helped me regain clarity, strengthen my boundaries, and reconnect with parts of myself that grief had pushed into the background.
What I appreciate most is his balance: he is compassionate when things are heavy, but also honest and direct when I need grounding. That combination seems perfect for me, and has made a meaningful difference in my healing.

James Sanniola has been a great help for me. He is very understanding, punctual, and professional. I’ve had other therapists in the past that just tried to blame my issues on my parents or make my sessions comical. James offers empathy and support, and always responds promptly. I would definitely recommend him for treatment.
