About me

Welcome to BetterHelp! I am a licensed therapist with almost nine years of experience in individual, family, and group therapy. I am passionate about supporting others in their journey to find inner peace and balance. I am currently licensed in Tennessee as a LCSW (#6086) and am a nationally certified TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist) nationwide. I have experience in working with individuals, families and adolescents on a variety of life issues such as; depression, anxiety, mood, anger, family conflict, relationships, and trauma. I have training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and Play Therapy. My treatment style is rooted in a client or family centered psycho-dynamic approach. I have provided services in outpatient, inpatient, school based, detention, and in-home settings.

I am a survivor of childhood trauma. Being a survivor has given me the belief that there is always hope and that nothing in life is final, but ever changing with possibilities. If you are seeking to go on a journey to heal, achieve mental health wellness, then you have to look no farther. You will find connection that is based in empathy. We all need someone to reach out to and who can say, "Me too".

I cannot recommend Jamie enough! She is an incredible therapist. When I first started seeing Jamie, I had almost completely given up on trying to deal with things from my past. I was completely depleted. I had tried so many times. Nothing was helping. Jamie changed that. She makes me feel safe. She talks to me in a supportive, intelligent and lighted hearted manner. She makes me feel like i'm part of my progress, rather than making me feel like i'm the one holding myself back. Even though I still have a long way to go with dealing with my traumatic past, for the first time, I am not afraid to face it, because I know i'm not doing it alone.

Jamie meshes so well with my personality and pushes me when I need pushing and softens her approach when I’m struggling, all while holding me accountable for my progress - which I desperately need. I only wish this was in person so I could bring her flowers as a thank you for how positively impactful she’s been in my life. I’m incredibly grateful.

I hardly know where to begin writing a review for Jamie, because I really think she's so great! I've been seeing her for over a year now and she has become a rock of stability in my life. It is hard for me to trust people but Jamie has been so patient, kind, understanding and generous with me that I feel she really cares about my well-being. After months of skepticism and resistance I now feel like I trust her in a way that maybe I've never trusted anyone in my life?! I wish everyone I know could be so lucky to have a therapist like her!
