About Me

Welcome to BetterHelp! I am a licensed therapist with almost nine years of experience in individual, family, and group therapy. I am passionate about supporting others in their journey to find inner peace and balance. Mental health often creates barriers to the ability to have healthy relationships, motivation to utilize healthy coping skills, and to find joy in daily life. I am currently licensed in Tennessee as a LCSW (#6086) and am a nationally certified TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist) nationwide. I have experience in working with individuals, families and adolescents on a variety of life issues such as; depression, anxiety, mood, anger, family conflict, relationships, and trauma. I have training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and Play Therapy. My treatment style is rooted in a client or family centered psycho-dynamic approach. I have provided services in outpatient, inpatient, school based, detention, and in-home settings.

I am a survivor of childhood trauma. Being a survivor has given me the belief that there is always hope and that nothing in life is final, but ever changing with possibilities. If you are seeking to go on a journey to heal, achieve mental health wellness, then you have to look no farther. You will find connection that is based in empathy. We all need someone to reach out to and who can say, "Me too".

I feel that Jamie understands my issues wholly and gives me space to process how I think, feel & act without judgement.

I appreciate her genuine, open & warm nature and feel I am in safe hands. Historically I have grown impatient with therapy, however I trust Jamie completely and know that she will support me through my journey at the pace I need to go at, rather than the speed I want to.

Jamie listens and understands but most importantly brings input to your situation and can help you to see things you would have not been able to and brings great faith of better understanding your difficulties to achieve the goal you are reaching.

I’ve only had one session with Jamie, but she seemed to be professional and an active listener. I will need more sessions to be able to evaluate her more accurately.

I hardly know where to begin writing a review for Jamie, because I really think she's so great! I've been seeing her for over a year now and she has become a rock of stability in my life. It is hard for me to trust people but Jamie has been so patient, kind, understanding and generous with me that I feel she really cares about my well-being. After months of skepticism and resistance I now feel like I trust her in a way that maybe I've never trusted anyone in my life?! I feel like I've hit the therapist jackpot with her and am so beyond grateful for her support. She truly has a huge heart and seems to have an infinite capacity to care for people. I wish everyone I know could be so lucky to have a therapist like her!

I was hesitant to try counseling again but Jamie has been really amazing. She respects me, gives me great feedback, and action plans to work through the things I’ve been dealing with in silence. I’m getting better each day and it’s largely due to the work Jamie is doing with me.

I read the reviews other people left, but I didn’t believe them because I’m skeptical AF. After a couple weeks, this wonderful human broke through my walls like the Kool-Aid man. Oh Yeah! She’s warm, comforting, empathetic, supportive, honest, and intuitive. All the reviews I read were true, and I am on the path to a happier, healthier me. I am grateful for her presence in my life.
