About me

I have been in the field for about 18 years beginning as a case manager and a substance abuse counselor. From there I became a fully licensed clinician and begin teaching a traumatic brain injury, substance abuse and duel diagnosis class. At this time I worked primarily with dual diagnosis patients suffering from mental illness (often a personality disorder) combined with substance abuse. After which I begin working in a facility with those who had a diagnoses of oppositional defiance and conduct disorder, during this time it became apparent that most of these clients were reacting from there trauma. Due to this revelation I became clinically certified in trauma and begin working with self harm and suicidal patients which lead me to pursuing a more affective way to service this population so I became EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) certified. I worked for a time with people who were on the federal case load; this population had a broad spectrum of diagnosis. Along with several private practice clients off and on along the way. Most recently I have been working with the Military population and their families on installation. At this point in my career there is very few issue's that I haven't encountered and worked with on some platform to which I have serviced with a broad modality of treatments to include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, Jungian, existential and person center. Overall I am most qualified and familiar with underlying issue's and the treatment of trauma.
