I believe everyone should have the opportunity to be heard and validated. My therapy approaches vary depending on the client and the concerns. I use a combination of client centered, cognitive behavioral, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. I am also trained in EMDR and trauma focused therapy. I have to admit I was a little skeptical of BetterHelp at first, but Jamie quickly eased my concerns without even realizing it. She has listened and given me great advice and helped me learn coping mechanisms. She keeps it lighthearted which doesn’t even make it seem like real therapy, but she also keeps it serious when it’s necessary. I can tell that she is a busy person but she is great at communicating and always replies within a timely manner. She is incredibly validating and helps me to work out how I’m feeling when I can’t really put into words what I’m feeling. I was embarrassed at first because the reason I signed up with betterhelp is because I was so depressed I couldn’t get out of bed, and I didn’t want to admit to anyone that I was having to do therapy virtually. Now I tell everyone about betterhelp and encourage them to try it out. For their sakes, I hope the rest of the therapists on betterhelp are as good as Jamie is!

I was able to get an appointment with Jamie within the week that I created an account and she contacted me the day after I joined to ensure I was okay and if I needed any immediate help.
