Hi, my name is Janet Suffel and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I graduated from Regent University in May 2007. I have been licensed since July2010 and have been in private practice since that time. Choosing to become a counselor was a difficult decision for me, as it necessitated returning to school after 20 years as a working professional . However, it is the best decision of my life to date.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults. The individuals I’ve worked with are dealing with resolving childhood (and recent) traumatic events in their lives as well as anxiety and/or depression. When working with trauma I assist the individual in resolving those events and help them understand how those events have impacted their life up to this point. When working with an individual dealing with anxiety, I provide concrete tools to assist them in their daily lives.
Reaching out to talk to a stranger is often difficult for people in our society today. You have made the first step on the journey to the rest of your life. I am excited you have chosen me as your guide. I look forward to walking part of your life journey with you.

Janet is an amazing therapist. In my few short months with her she has made a major impact on me. Issues that I thought would never leave me are starting to make more sense and be more manageable and I’m happy about it

I have been working with Janet for a few weeks now and they have been extremely helpful in helping me to gain perspective on some things that I have needed to work through. I like Janet's no-nonsense approach. Janet would message to check in which is a nice perk and is always quick to respond to any messages that I may send. I would highly recommend Janet.
