I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and have been in practice since 2013. I am originally from California and received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College and spent 2010-2020 living in Boston and working for Harvard hospitals in various clinical settings including: general-medicine inpatient services, inpatient psychiatry, and as an outpatient therapist to clients seen in a large primary care clinic. I have recently transitioned to South Florida and will continue my work as a therapist.
I work with clients affected by a range of issues including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, family dynamic issues, relationship issues, substance abuse, racism and discrimination, geriatric/end of life issues, and domestic violence. I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds, and am comfortable attending to the unique challenges that surface at different stages. I am also bilingual (fluent in English and Spanish) and am keen to the unique experiences of BIPOC.
My overall therapeutic approach is client-centered and I strive to create an open environment where clients can speak freely about their struggles with the assurance that this information will be received with compassion. I am empathic, reflective, and non-judgmental, and focus on clients’ abilities and strengths as a tool for healing and empowerment.
I understand that beginning therapy can often feel scary and nerve wracking, so I commend you for taking this step. Together, we will gently address your worries, fears, and stressors to help you overcome this difficult period. The goal of therapy is to empower you to become the best version of yourself through hard work and consistency, and I am confident that we can accomplish that together.

Janice is one of the shining lights in these dark times. In just a few short months, my life has changed, thanks to her guidance, support, and expertise. I commend Better Help for listening to my needs and pairing me with Janice. I would recommend her and this app to everyone I know.
