Jaret Romano, LPC, LCMHC
About me
Welcome! I like to think counseling is a wonderful journey to help explore yourself and develop helpful coping skills when facing difficulty in life. I am a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience in the field. I have a Master of Arts degree in counseling from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the State of New Hampshire, and I am also a DBT Linehan-Board of Certification, Certified Clinician and an EMDR-Certified Therapist through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). I have worked with many different individuals, including those who struggle with depression, anxiety, addictions, and trauma. I think of counseling as a process of working together to develop an insightful mind set into who you are and how to make meaning from your experiences.
My counseling style involves a high level of active listening upon my part and an overall collaborative effort to help you meet your specific goals and needs. I tend to practice from a person-centered, humanistic perspective. I also have specific training in dialectical behavior therapy, which is an incredibly helpful combination of developing skills in handling highly stressful situations in a healthy way, as well as improve upon communication skills and regulating emotions. I also work with individuals using EMDR therapy as a modality to help resolve unprocessed traumatic experiences. I believe everyone's story and experiences create strengths that can be helpful in feeling better.
It takes a lot of strength and courage to start the process of counseling. Something you might want to know about me is that I've been in the client's seat in the counseling relationship and understand just how much strength and courage it takes to talk with a counselor. If you're ready to start the journey, I'm here to support you.
I look forward to working with you!

Jaret has been a pleasure to have on this journey with me, I am where I am and who I am today because of his support, compassion, kindness and knowledge. I can’t say enough positive things about Jaret, my journey and where I am now compared to where I was before. I know that I can tell him anything, there is no shame, worry, embarrassment etc etc. He has helped me to find my authentic self and be comfortable and confident in truly just being me. He is truly the most trustworthy and genuinely the easiest person to talk to, I’m blessed to be able to have him on this journey with me.

Every day I thank the 'universe' for having connected the two of us. And I thank my stubborn streak for not giving up and giving this messy therapy process yet another chance. But most of all, I have to thank you for being the wonderful, compassionate and patient human being you are.
Thank you for being that safe harbour where I can begin to process the generations of grief and trauma that have been neglected for way too long.
