About Me

My name is Jean Loar and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I am so glad you have reached out today. I have been in practice in the Dallas area for thirty-four years. At some point in most of our lives we find the need to reach out to someone to guide us through and support us in examining our own internal conflict or issues and finding our way back to better place. It would be my honor to assist you in that journey.

My experience encompasses working with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and individual, family and marital issues. I have worked in a hospital setting but have spent most of my career in private practice. Additionally, I have worked in corporate Employee Assistance Settings (EAP) as well as in crisis intervention. I enjoy working with young adults through geriatrics. I also enjoy working with families and couples as a part of my practice. The techniques I utilize are typically cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness based and solution-focused therapy,

Additionally, I understand how important the therapeutic relationship is and how important it is for you to feel safe and supported without judgement. Getting started it the first step. The growth and change are the parts that we will work on together to help you get back on track and enjoy this life you have.

I was not expecting one conservation to have such a positive effect on my mental state - boy, was I wrong! I instantly felt comfortable with Jean and, within less than an hour, she helped me feel more like myself again amidst the crazy storm that is 2020. She brought me back from the brink of what felt like insanity by relating with what I was feeling. It was exactly what I needed - so appreciative for Jean!
