Hello. I have been working with people as a Licensed Professional Counselor and as an Occupational Therapist for the past 26 years. This means that I not only believe in the healing properties that can be found with sharing thoughts and feelings in a supportive, non-judgmental relationship, but I also strongly believe in the importance of integrating purposeful activity into our work together. I like to foster an environment in which we can work together as a team. YOU are the expert in your life, and therapy can help you to make the best decisions to get your life back on track. To this end, I will often give people assignments to complete between sessions. It might be something to read, an exercise designed to get you thinking, or a task to get you to examine your thoughts or feelings. It all depends on what goals you have chosen to work on during our time together.
Some specific areas I can help you with are feelings of depression and anxiety, managing stress, suicidal thoughts, substance abuse concerns, difficulty with your career or relationships, chronic heath issues, caregiver burnout or stress, issues related to a history of abuse, mood swings, low self esteem and grief.
I understand how very difficult it can be to reach out for help and am so glad that you have made this positive step for yourself. I would very much like the opportunity to make this journey with you.

Working with Jean has been so helpful. She really listens to me and helps guide me to my own conclusions by helping me get to the root of the feelings and where they might be coming from. I have only been working with her for a few months but I already feel more confident in my daily life, especially at work!

I would recommend Jean to anyone that needs help. She makes me feel comfortable telling her anything. I have been with her for quite awhile and have learned quite a bit about myself. She has walked me through some difficult times. I feel very strong about her being a part of my recovery. I started with her when I quit drinking and I'm still sober. She would be the first person I would reach out to if I was struggling and I know it would help. I really got matched to a great therapist. Thank you Jean
