About me

Hi,
My name is Jeanne Assinthe. I started my professional life as a teacher in Miami Dade County. She went on to work as a state correctional officer and then started working as a Targeted Case Manager/Therapist and Parenting Educator (serving high-risk families involve in DCF). Because of my work with high-risk youth and my direct observation of trauma, I decided to establish Amitie (a Virtual Wellness Center) . I enjoy my multiple roles as a Telehealth Assessor, Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor. My passion led me to create clinical programs, including an independent Living Skills curriculum dedicated to young adults age 16 to 24 in and out of the foster care system.

Today, I works fully via telehealth but enjoys presenting and discussing mental health with individuals/groups in efforts to educate, promote and advocate for Mental Wellness, especially in communities where the stigma attached to therapy prevents or limits a willingness to seek support. As a black woman, I has a true passion for my Haitian community. I am the founder and host of Pawòl Lakay, which started as a radio show exposing and addressing taboo topics in the Haitian community such as child abuse, gender role and expectations, human trafficking, corruption, sex, financial abuse, oppression, education, and religion.

My extensive qualifications, as well as my commitment to continued education, contribute to her ever-expanding knowledge and practice in the mental health field. Don’t let my passionate dedication and professionalism fool you, though. I always have a smile on my face and loves to spend time dancing, traveling, and hosting get-togethers with friends and family members.

I have only met with Jeanne once, but I feel like she understands where I am coming from while also holding me accountable in love on the things she needs to point out to me. She helps by asking me questions that cause me to think more deeply about why I may feel or act the way that I do. She truly listens and brings a fresh perspective to what you are going through
